Tech Lead, Korea

In this position you will....

…be providing technology and engineering leadership for our Advanced Product Engineering function. This function is responsible for developing cutting-edge solutions for use across bolttech. You are expected to design and guide the implementation of new systems and carry out R&D related initiatives (e.g., research various emerging technologies and develop Proof-of-Concept (PoC) to showcase new product ideas and innovation). You will also be participating in detailed solutioning discussions with Technical Leads to come up with the best trade-off between engineering excellence and speed of delivery. We are looking for a highly organized and technically proficient Senior Technical Lead to conduct daily operations, manage partnerships, and drive product enhancements for our key partners. This role plays a pivotal position in supporting our Korea market’s technical infrastructure, business continuity, and product growth initiatives.

 You will be responsible for…

• Supporting senior leadership to develop and execute technical PoCs
• Selecting the best technology stack for implementing business requirements – this includes the cloud services to use, the languages, frameworks, tooling, the deployment strategy, and their automation stacks
• Coming up with roadmaps, executing technical strategies, outlining milestones and success criteria
• Utilizing Agile framework for delivery while defining Minimum Viable Proposition (MVP) scope for implementation
• Lead daily operations for domestic businesses, including system monitoring, issue tracking, error management, and resolution
• System security, scalability, and reliability; you will co-own this with the relevant squads including DevOps and group security team
• Educating engineers of the trending technologies and adopting these trends into the engineering practices if found suitable
• Drive product and technical architecture enhancements for device protection platforms
• Collaborate with business and product teams to design new business models and customer-facing solutions
• Define, document, and prioritize technical and business requirements in collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Manage service desk ticket lifecycle: assignment, resolution, and delivery.
• Monitor and follow up on high-priority tickets and recurring issues
• Maintain strong working relationships with over 15+ partners and vendors
• Providing mentorship to engineers and manage their performance. Growing them with sharpening their craft
• Fostering innovation culture within the technology team by introducing new technical frameworks or techniques into the team e.g., applying machine learning where appropriate and selecting the best service providers for integration

 You will require the following qualifications and skills                                                                                                               

・BSc in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems Engineering, Business Information Systems or related fields
・Minimum 7 years of working experience in a Technical/Engineering leadership role, preferably from an Insurtech or Fintech organization or with an R&D product delivery background
・Good knowledge of systems architecture. For instance, Microservices Architecture, Event Sourcing and Command and Query Responsibility Segregation (CQRS)
・Strong knowledge in cloud services such as AWS, GCP or Azure
・Ability to program in a few languages or frameworks such as Java, Node.js, Reactjs, Angular, and Python
・Deep knowledge of CI/CD with the ability to create and improve existing ones using tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines and CircleCI
・Good knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, Postgresql, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch
・Familiarity with the DevOps stack such as Terraform, CloudFormation and Kubernetes
