We are now looking for a

DATA SCIENTIST 

to join the Data & Analytics, Customer and Revenue team at Finnair. As a Data Scientist, you will develop, productize, and maintain advanced and actionable analytics models that continuously improve and optimize performance in the Customer and Revenue functions at Finnair. You will work in close collaboration with business stakeholders and digital colleagues in the data, architecture, and platform teams. 

For this position, we are especially interested in candidates with a strong interest and proven experience in working with customer data in a commercial context (e.g., personalization, segmentation, customer journey analysis). This role offers the flexibility to shape your focus area based on your unique expertise and background. 

The core responsibilities of the role focus on data science, data strategy, and the development of data and analytics capabilities.

More detailed examples of the responsibilities: 

  • Develop and deploy advanced analytics models to support performance and process improvements in the Customer and Revenue area

  • Productionize and maintain machine learning solutions using CI/CD pipelines in a cloud environment (AWS)

  • Collaborate with business, data, and digital teams to ensure alignment between analytics solutions and business needs

  • Promote a data-driven culture by advocating for analytics use and sharing best practices across the organization

  • Enhance data collection, modeling, and quality processes to improve the overall data ecosystem

  • Translate business questions into analytical tasks and deliver actionable insights and recommendations

  • Stay current with emerging technologies and methods in machine learning and data science

 

To succeed in this role, an ideal candidate will have:

  • Relevant Master’s degree or PhD (e.g., business, engineering, analytics)

  • Ability to translate complex data into clear business insights, conclusions, and actionable recommendations

  • Strong experience in data mining techniques and a proven track record in advanced analytics (e.g., machine learning, optimization, predictive and prescriptive analytics) 

  • Ability to build cross-validated and value adding models, perform predictive and actionable analytics via mathematical methods, algorithm usage and creation

  • Proficiency in Python and SQL

  • Experience with AWS cloud services, dbt, Docker, BigQuery 

  • Experience with, or a strong interest in learning, data science infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, data pipelines, MLOps) is highly valued
