Do work that matters

We're building tomorrow’s bank today, which means we need creative and diverse engineers to help us redefine what customers expect from a bank. Envisioning new technologies that are still waiting to be invented and reimagining products that support our customers and help build Australia’s future economy.

This role is embedded within the financial crimes domain, where your work will directly contribute to building secure, intelligent systems that detect and prevent illicit activity.

We’re seeking a Senior Full Cycle Software Engineer who brings deep experience across the stack and a passion for building scalable, modern systems. You’ll play a key role in designing and delivering solutions that span multiple platforms and services, with a particular focus on Gen-AI engineering tools and leveraging AWS cloud-native capabilities.

  • Solid understanding of data design, data querying with SQL, data frameworks, ETL processes, data pipelines, and data optimization.

  • Proficient with microservices architecture and integration with RESTful APIs and messaging systems such as Kafka.

  • Good knowledge of the full SDLC lifecycle and modern engineering practices, with a strong focus on functional, reliability, security, and debugging.

  • Strong DevSecOps mindset with hands-on experience embedding observability tools (e.g. OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana).

  • Proven ability to design and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and YAML workflows.

  • Familiarity with Generative AI tools and frameworks (e.g., GitHub Copilot, OpenAI APIs, LangChain, or similar) to support code generation, documentation, and intelligent automation.

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud-native development, including infrastructure-as-code, serverless computing, and container orchestration.

  • Experience configuring, customizing, and testing vendor products (added advantage).

  • A keen interest in researching new AI tooling and you are a daily user of AI coding assistants such as Cursor, Continue, GitHub CoPilot, Aider, Cline, etc.  (added advantage).

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders to solve business-critical problems

Tech Stack:

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these will set you up for success in this team:

  • C#, .Net, Python or Java

  • Hands on in AWS Cloud technologies

  • Database and transactional knowledge

  • Working knowledge of DevOps & CI/CD pipelines

  • Good experience in messaging technologies (MQ, Kafka)
