The Senior Manager, Finance Data Engineering and Analytics is a critical leadership role within TMX Group's Finance Insights and Analytics (FINA) team, reporting directly to the Director. This position is at the forefront of our journey to transform finance through data-driven insights. You will be instrumental in building the infrastructure and capabilities that empower our finance professionals with timely, accurate, and actionable information.   This role will have one direct report.

Finance Data Pipeline Development and Management

Design, build, and maintain scalable and robust data pipelines for financial data, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.  This includes:

• Act as a DBA to maintain our Finance data warehouse for management reporting

• Liaise with our Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) team to strategize pipeline solutions, test changes and monitor system performance

• Maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery for Data Pipeline

• Implement a well defined IT Change Management process

• Oversee data quality, integrity, and governance frameworks for finance-related datasets.

• Identify and integrate new data sources to enrich our financial analytics capabilities.

Finance Business Intelligence Development 

Lead the development of business intelligence (BI) solutions, including dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights.

• Lead end to end Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) for all FINA BI initiatives including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment and support

• Partner with finance stakeholders to understand their analytical needs and translate them into effective BI solutions.

• Work closely with the Enterprise BI team to drive consistent application of BI best practices and contribute to the overarching enterprise data strategy.

• Manage workload and development of direct reports

Data Enablement and Support

• Champion data literacy within the finance team, providing training and support on data tools and analytical best practices.

• Own FINA support model for user queries including access control, training, troubleshooting issues etc.

• Act as a subject matter expert for finance data, assisting users with complex queries and analysis.

• Foster a data-driven culture by promoting the effective use of insights for decision-making.

Agile Project Management:

• Oversee and manage finance data and analytics projects from conception to deployment, utilizing agile principles.

• Act as a scrum master for all Finance data initiatives

• Ensure efficient resource allocation, timeline adherence, and effective communication with stakeholders.

• Drive continuous improvement in our data engineering and analytics processes.

Must Have(s)

• 5+ years in data engineering and building data pipelines.

• 10+ years in Business Intelligence (BI), with demonstrated success in end to end delivery of large-scale BI initiatives

• 5+ years in a team leader or managerial role

• Experience with BI tools (QuickSight, Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.).

• Proficiency in SQL

Nice To have(s)

• Experience with implementing Amazon QuickSight solutions

• Experience with other AWS tools (Glue, Data Brew, S3, Athena)

• Experience with Snowflake

• Workday/Adaptive Experience

• PMP or Certified Scrum Master Certification

• Google Workspace Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides etc.)

• Experience with Microsoft Power BI

• Understanding of accounting principles and standards

Note: Hybrid role 2-3 days in the Toronto Office
