We are looking for a talented Python engineer to join a newly formed team in Investment Banking Technology. This role will help develop cutting-edge AI (Artificial Intelligence) solutions leveraging Google's Gemini LLMs and other emergent technology. The first focus for this role will be a new application called CodeMiner, which utilises AI to transform application source code repositories into dynamic knowledge bases. CodeMiner will be transformational in facilitating the understanding of business processes and engineering and will empower faster, smarter decision-making across business and technology teams.

Your key responsibilities

• Help with the design and development of AI solutions leveraging Google’s Gemini LLMs and other available emergent technologies
• Drive innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development cycles, transforming complex concepts into impactful, production-ready solutions
• Act as a lead for more junior team members providing guidance and technical mentorship
• Collaborate and communicate effectively partnering closely with cross-functional teams, clearly articulating technical ideas and progress

Your skills and experience

• Python Expertise: Strong background in Python, ideally with AI/ML and data science domain experience. Proficiency with libraries such as scikit-learn or equivalents
• Adaptability: Ability to quickly grasp complex concepts, context-switch and drive impactful solutions
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication to enable engagement with managerial oversight, peers and subordinates
• RAG Architecture & Databases: Experience or willingness to learn about vector stores and work comfortably with SQL/Postgres databases
• Data Science Context: Understanding clustering algorithms and embedding vectors would be highly advantageous but not a prerequisite
