Job Description

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule after a six-month full-time onsite onboarding period. The hybrid work schedule includes a bank of 60 days/year to be used as remote days on Tuesdays or Thursdays only. The anticipated salary range for this role is $70,000-$75,000/year.

The IU Foundation is seeking an Assistant Director for Crimson Data Quality to enhance our advancement data practices and improve the management, accessibility, and utilization of key records across the organization. As a member of the Prospect Management, Research, and Crimson Data Quality team, you’ll help ensure that the most impactful data is accurate, accessible, and prioritized to support fundraising success.

In this role, you'll work closely with fundraisers and staff to understand and respond to data needs, reduce duplication, and improve processes that make data more accessible, usable, and aligned with fundraising. You'll lead with curiosity, challenging processes when needed, while bringing others along through thoughtful and transparent change. Your leadership will be central to modernizing IU’s approach to constituent data, fostering innovation while honoring legacy systems and staff experience. Your work will strengthen data quality and ensure that records, reports, and email lists are accurate, consistent, and reliable.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Data Management, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in CRM systems, data integrity, or advancement services required.
    • Experience working with Blackbaud CRM or similar enterprise database systems is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams within a complex organization.
  • Experience working with external vendors and partners preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of SQL, data querying, and reporting practices.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies with the ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Ability to assess data quality priorities and develop strategic plans aligned with organizational goals.
  • Demonstrated leadership in navigating change within established teams, fostering collaboration, and building trust.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders, ask challenging questions, and advocate for thoughtful innovation.
  • Deep understanding of the role data plays in fundraising and marketing effectiveness.
  • High emotional intelligence and a team-first mindset that supports culture-building and transparency.
