Your Role

As a Data Scientist, you will develop insights and new product features utilizing the vast amounts of data streaming from our extensive deployment of telematics and IoT devices in the field. Collaborating with engineering, product management, data analysts, and customer support teams, you will develop new algorithms, reports, dashboards, and product enhancements to improve the functionality, reliability, and user experience of Aperia’s products. This is a remote role.

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and enhance predictive models and algorithms to detect data anomalies in order to improve product performance or increase product adoption.
  • Analyze reported problems, determine root causes, and suggest preventive measures based on collected data. 
  • Curate valuable data sources and automate data collection processes using business intelligence tools and data frameworks. 
  • Commit to the preprocessing of structured and unstructured data on a daily basis.
  • Analyze large amounts of existing and new information to discover trends and patterns and document and prepare data for reporting statistics and presenting graphs. 
  • Present information using data visualization techniques to commercial stakeholders, management, customers, and sales. 
  • Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to augment data. 
  • Propose solutions and strategies for any business challenges found.

Required Qualifications

  • BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field required; a graduate degree in Data Science or other quantitative field is preferred
  • Proven 2-4 years of experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python is required; familiarity with R, Matlab, or C is an asset
  • Experience using business intelligence tools and data frameworks
  • Experience in data mining
  • Analytical mind and business acumen
  • Strong mathematical skills (e.g. statistics, algebra)
  • Problem-solving aptitude
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Pay Range: $120,000 - $135,000

*Base salary only. Salary is dependent on multiple factors including, but not limited to, experience and location.
