Summary:

The Software Engineering role involves designing and implementing real-time endoscopic imaging applications with a focus on computer vision and image processing using C++ on embedded platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson. The ideal candidate will contribute to system architecture, optimization of GPU-based algorithms, and camera image signal pipelines. Collaboration across engineering disciplines, strong documentation, and leadership in software best practices are key. Candidates should have deep experience in embedded software development, computer vision, and GPU programming, with a background in medical devices considered a strong plus.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Design, architect and implement real time endoscopic imaging applications including user interface elements on embedded microprocessors
  • Actively implement and support optimization of high-performance computer vision algorithms for real time endoscopic imaging on medical devices using C++ and CUDA
  • Support the implementation of camera image signal and calibration pipelines for image quality enhancement
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team of computer vision and electrical engineering specialists
  • Translate high level software requirements into detailed and thoroughly documented software implementations
  • Participate in design and code reviews. Contribute to design verification activities to prove that the software correctly implements requirements
  • Collaborate with program management to create accurate software project schedules and mentor other engineers
  • Define and lead implementation of best practices
  • Provide architectural guidance
  • Evaluate new technologies and provide architectural guidance

Who You Will Report To:

  • Director, Software Engineering

Requirements:

  • Direct experience with CUDA and GPU programming
  • Strong understanding of computer vision fundamentals and image processing techniques
  • Familiarity with NVIDIA platforms (e.g., Jetson, DRIVE, or related SDKs)
  • Advanced experience with C++ Software Development (3-5 years)
  • Strong experience with Python
  • Experience working in a Linux based environment, specifically in a command line environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or a STEM discipline and a minimum 3-5 years' experience. Alternatively, minimum of 6 years professional experience developing software for products released to and used by customers
  • Deep understanding of Software Engineering principles such as object-oriented analysis and design, data structures, algorithms and software architecture
  • Proven track record with unit testing, module and integration testing
  • Excellent documentation skills paired with willingness to actively employ these skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and effectively within a team environment
  • Compliance with relevant county, state, and Federal rules regarding vaccinations.

  • A competitive base salary of $143,000 - $160,000 and variable incentive plan
