We’re looking for a Senior Data Scientist with a proven track record of deeply understanding complex business problems and using industry-leading analytical techniques to find insights that transform our business and customer experiences.
Ideal candidates should be able to take a business or engineering problem from Product or Engineering leaders, translate it to a Data Science problem, conduct the appropriate analysis and modeling to reveal actionable insights, and then communicate those results to the OneDrive Leadership team to drive change.

Responsibilities
- Work cross functionally to translate business problems into ones that can be solved and informed by data analysis.
- Have curiosity and apply analytical skills to dive deep into data to find key insights that identify business problems and potential solutions.
- Develop models of usage, user behavior & business behavior to make recommendations and influence the product road map.
- Work with other teams across Microsoft to develop key metrics to achieve business outcomes.
- Be a champion of A/B testing: design, execute and analyze experiments to prove product change attribution.
- Utilize tools like SQL, R, Python to execute analyses.
- Utilize LLMs and other AI technologies to revolutionize data science practices within the team, enhancing the speed, accuracy, and scalability of data analysis and insight generation.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
- OR Master's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 3+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying sstatistical techniques and reporting results)
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
- OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years customer-facing, project-delivery experience, professional services, and/or consulting experience.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

- OR Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 7+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
- OR equivalent experience.
Applied Sciences IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $114,400 - CAD $203,900 per year.
