Do you want to work on features that will protect hundreds of millions of users against cyber-attacks? If so, the Account Protection team in Microsoft's Identity & Network Access (IDNA) division is the right place for you! Our team focuses on scenarios for protecting Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft account from account compromise, and creating enhanced security and protection features for consumers, business customers and end users. Our team is looking for a Software Engineer II who is highly motivated, creative, and customer focused to help us deliver innovative features. We work on a variety of technologies including ML/AI and collaborate with partner teams across Microsoft. Responsibilities

  • Develop big data prevention and detection systems to combat account compromise.
  • Research to learn about mechanisms being employed by attackers, as well as to determine probabilities correlated with both good and bad actors.
  • Collaborate with relying parties, platform teams, hunt teams, and other identity providers to ensure maximum protection in ecosystem and increase net efficiency.
  • Create tools and frameworks to facilitate efficiency in meeting the responsibilities listed above.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience. 
  • 1+ years of experience designing, developing, or maintaining secure software systems, with applied knowledge of authenticationdata protectionaccess control, and secure coding practices 
  • 1+ years of experience with ML modeling and security analytics

Other Requirements:

 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency coding in C# 
  • Experience with Service Fabric 
  • Distributed systems experience

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
