Position Description

 

Designs data analysis and production rollout project activities in Snowflake and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Develops Extract, Load, Transform (ELT) and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) technologies --SSIS, Power Center Cloud Tools, and Informatica Snowflake Connector. Deploys Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines using Maven, Jenkins, Stash, Ansible, and Docker. Participates in the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) according to Agile development methodologies (Kanban and SCRUM) using Unix/Linux Shell Scripting. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications. 

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

 

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.  

  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.  

  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.  

  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation. 

  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing. 

  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.  

  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems. 

  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope. 

  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project. 

  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives. 

 

Education and Experience

 

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration solutions to ensure reliable and scalable data management across operational or analytical capability platforms using Informatica PowerCenter, Dataiku, and Databricks. 

 

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration solutions to ensure reliable and scalable data management across operational or analytical capability platforms using Informatica PowerCenter, Dataiku, and Databricks. 

 

Skills and Knowledge

 

Candidate must also possess: 

 

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) developing CI/CD pipelines using Docker, Stash, Jenkins, uDeploy, Mavens, and Ansible; coordinating changes to source code using version control systems (Git); and writing automated tests using Python and Unix. 

  • DE performing data modeling and database design using Star and Snowflake, Data Vault techniques, and dimensional structures (types 1, 2, and 3) in a data warehouse environment with distributed frameworks (Snowflake and PySpark) and databases (Oracle and DB2). 

  • DE automating end-to-end workflows, and defining and building API integrations, using cloud-based integration tools -- Informatica PowerCenter, Dataiku, and Databricks. 

  • DE building end-to-end ETL pipelines and orchestration for large-scale data warehousing and Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) projects using cloud infrastructure (AWS and Azure) and project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, or Kanban).
