EIT Oxford is investing significant resources in a new world-class research and development facility in the Oxford Science Park. Set for completion in 2027, the state-of-the-art campus includes 300,000 sq ft of research laboratories, an oncology and preventative care clinic, and educational and meeting spaces. Together, they create the perfect environment for EIT Oxford experts to take ground-breaking ideas from research to broad implementation. The new facility will further EIT’s current partnership with the University of Oxford and become the new home for Ellison Scholars.

Requirements
The Role:
We are looking to recruit Data Engineer who will drive the deployment of a data platform which will underpin the development of cutting-edge AI at EIT. You will be responsible for components of the data infrastructure and pipeline development and will play a crucial role in the architecting scalable data systems that power our AI models and products.
This role requires technical expertise in scaling data processing systems for high performance AI applications and the ability to partner and collaborate with a diverse of teams including scientists, innovators, operations and researchers from different fields.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement components of a robust, scalable data pipelines and infrastructure
- Lead the development of data processing systems using cloud technologies
- Optimize data storage and retrieval for high-performance AI applications
- Collaborate with AI/ML teams to support model development and deployment
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies to enhance our data capabilities
- Partner and collaborate with a diverse set of teams incl. science, research, product, business development and operations
Qualifications & Experience:
- Extensive enterprise programming experience writing production code using Python
- Experience with data modelling, ETL processes, data warehousing, and SQL
- You have cloud compute experience
- You’re a confident, articulate communicator who can convey complex concepts clearly
- You thrive in an environment that values innovation and tackle challenges with creative solutions.
- You’re energised by our mission and thrive in a fast-paced, startup-like setting.
Nice to have but not essential:
- Familiar with AI/ML workflows and data requirements
- You are familiar with containerisation/Docker/Kubernetes
- You are familiar with Git and CI/CD workflows
- Proficient in Linux/BaSH

- You must have the right to work permanently in the UK with a willingness to travel as necessary.
- You will live in, or within easy commuting distance of, Oxford.
- During peak periods, some longer hours may be required and some working across multiple time zones due to the global nature of the programme.
