POSITION SUMMARY:
The Operations Intelligence Developer will play a key role in transforming real-time shop floor data into actionable insights through intuitive dashboards, reporting tools, and manufacturing applications. This role is responsible for building scalable visualizations, KPIs, and operational tools that empower data-driven decision-making across global sites.
A critical part of this role includes development within Inductive Automation’s Ignition platform, integrating with PLCs, MES systems, databases, and IoT data sources to deliver responsive and context-rich user experiences.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and develop interactive dashboards and applications using Power BI, Ignition, or similar tools to visualize data across all areas of manufacturing.
- Integrate data from SCADA, MES, ERP, and IoT systems into a unified information layer.
- Collaborate with plant operations and CI teams to define and deliver real-time KPI monitoring tools.
- Develop reusable templates and UI components to accelerate dashboard deployment across sites.
- Maintain clean and optimized SQL queries and Python scripts used in dashboard back-ends.
- Partner with Data Engineers to align with standardized data models and enterprise data architecture.
- Document designs, workflows, and visualization standards for global use.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Proficiency in visualization tools such as Power BI or other.
- Hands-on experience with Ignition (Perspective, Vision, Tag Historian, scripting).
- Working knowledge of SQL and Python.
- Familiarity with OT data sources (PLC, SCADA, MES, OPC UA, MQTT) and manufacturing KPIs.
- Ability to interface with plant personnel, understand industrial processes, and deliver usable tools.
Education/Special Knowledge - bachelor’s degree in computer science, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.
Experience - 3+ years of experience in business intelligence or manufacturing analytics roles
Physical Demands/Work Environment - Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer, may require local, domestic and international travel. This position will be located out of Troy MI, or remote with a travel requirement.
