Requirements
What You’ll Do
- Proactively unblock engineering teams, challenge flawed assumptions, and clarify ambiguity before it leads to project delays.
- Partner closely with team leads to maintain high delivery velocity, stepping in when accountability or alignment drops.
- Balance short-term execution priorities with a strategic lens on long-term platform scalability across diverse technology stacks.
- Focus on building features that solve real customer problems, rather than just checking boxes from a product requirements document.
- Occasionally review code or system architecture during critical phases or escalations, providing valuable technical guidance.
- Support team growth and development by mentoring mid-level engineers, spotting skill gaps early, and identifying high-potential individual contributors.
- Operate fluently with modern collaboration and engineering tools (e.g., Google Docs, Notion, GitHub, Teams, YouTrack, Jira, ChatGPT), and advocate for better tooling when necessary.
- Collaborate with product, UX, and QA teams to align on expectations and preemptively catch miscommunications or mismatches.
What You Must Bring
- 8+ years of engineering experience, including 2–3 years in a senior leadership or director-level position.
- Proven track record of delivering high-impact projects within B2B SaaS or product-driven startup environments.
- Strong technical fluency across cloud-first architectures (AWS), API design, and visual web applications.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on AWS experience with services like EC2, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch, and IAM — with a sound understanding of cost, reliability, and architectural trade-offs.
- Experience working with frontend frameworks like React, especially in products with rich visual UX or creative/editor interfaces.
- Familiarity with backend technologies such as FastAPI, Python, and Java/Spring, with the ability to evaluate technical decisions and guide implementations.
- 1+ years of experience with AI/ML or MLOps workflows, including deploying models via FastAPI, Docker, or on GPU-enabled ECS instances.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (e.g., AWS CodeBuild/CodeDeploy), containerization (Docker), and monitoring/debugging tools (e.g., Datadog, CloudWatch).
- Strong product intuition—able to anticipate when a feature may not meet user needs, even if technically complete.
- Excellent written communication skills—able to produce specifications, documentation, and team feedback independently, without relying on senior executives for clarity.
