They spend their days collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data from a wide range of live sporting events. If you combine this real-time data with our 40-year-old archives, elite journalists, camera operators, copywriters, the latest in AI wizardry, and a host of 'behind the scenes' support staff, you've got all the ingredients to make it a magical experience!  

Our teams of technical experts specialize in harnessing live sporting data, using advanced cloud technologies, Java, JavaScript and Python. It is these tech teams that enable us to extract patterns through AI and Machine Learning and deliver our insights via APIs. In short, they turn complex data into magical experiences with cutting-edge technology. 

Responsibilities:

As the Fast Data Training Lead, you will:

  • Govern, deliver and service the training and learning needs of operations across the fast data collection product.
  • Design, deliver and implement consistent training standards and blended learning processes for all operational functions and teams. 
  • Deliver training programmes within agreed training budgets, finding ways to use existing resources for cost savings. 
  • Regularly connect to the Quality Management System and Operations to assess key metrics and proactively highlight training needs. Continually review and improve training standards and methodologies. 
  • You make sure that training certification by the Quality Control team is executed by defined standards. 
  • Deliver innovation and automation ideas not only related to training, but also related to other QMS key areas to enforce product, quality- and process- improvements. 
  • Partner with key stakeholders to collaboratively launch a consistent training structure across all data collection areas. 
  • Formalise a training program roll out strategy that meets the learning needs and requirements of the business.
  • Ensure continuous documentation of training standards and processes.
  • Ensure all training records on the training database and other systems are updated including training requests, training events, evaluation data and all learning activities are recorded accordingly. 
  • Create & maintain project management, request- and release processes. You ensure proper marketing and distribution of training material.
  • Launch continuous reporting on training and measure against KPIs. Report back to the business on training metrics such as completion rate as part of important releases or Rookie quality.
  • Manage the onboarding process to confirm readiness. 
  • Ensure that the data collection software training material is adapted and regularly updated to the users’ needs.
  • Provide solutions for cross-divisional roll-out of consistent training within Stats Perform. 
  • Keep your training team engaged and create personal development goals.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Commercial awareness: Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge and working experience with bet data collection products and services of Stats Perform, the sports betting industry, and our competition. You can apply commercial expertise and judgement to this knowledge to deliver better business outcomes. 
  • Customer orientation and process expertise: You maintain internal and external customer satisfaction by ensuring produced training content is fit for purpose and in compliance with outlined data collection processes via connecting your data collection expertise to the training team. You can go beyond basic customer expectations to innovate products and services and training methodologies. 
  • An in- depth understanding of the RunningBall product, specifically in- depth knowledge around data collection processes and all operational processes. 
  • People management: Senior personality with the ability to manage teams and deliver projects per target deadlines. Ability to anticipate challenges, strong leadership skills, communicates effectively, with the ability to engage remote teams.
  • Project management: You manage the training team roadmap, deliver end- to- end projects via successful releases and frequently update the business on project progress.  
  • Stakeholder management: You regularly connect to key stakeholders to coordinate efficient requirements and successfully project delivery. 
  • Solid understanding of the capabilities of Power BI. 
  • Passionate about automated technological innovations, ideally you have already worked on process automation. 
  • Strong presentation skills as you regularly deliver business updates to peers, stakeholders and senior management. Strong relationship building, able to communicate at all levels.
  • Has a strong stakeholder focus and is obsessive about service, builds genuine partnerships with internal and external clients and is able to transfer requirements into first class training content output.  Manages tensions and expectations and leads internal stakeholders. 
  • Excellent command of English in written and verbal form to ensure all training content meets business expectations. 
  • Awareness and compliance/adherence to ISO 9001:2015 certification: You are aware that Stats Perform is ISO 9001 certificated. You follow all procedures required.

Good to have:

  • Learning & development experience in the sports data business, and preferably you are familiar with Cornerstone which powers the Stats Perform Academy.
  • Ideally competent in using advanced training software packages, at least a strong will to become familiar with utilized software.
  • Will have demonstrated success in a process led environment, previously responsible for the review, definition, continuous improvement, and evaluation of training programmes.
  • Experience with collecting and drafting software requirements.
  • Experience with the creation of training documents, operational and customer facing user manuals.
