Here is what you will need:
- A track record of successfully leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Strategic thinking and a passion for leveraging data to drive business growth.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- At least 10 years of experience leading data teams and implementations
- Strong understanding of data integration technologies, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts; solid comprehension of various cloud-based data platforms such as Azure, Snowflake, AWS, etc.
- Experience with AI technologies and their implementation in a business setting.
- Knowledge of data modeling, dimensional modeling, data quality, and metadata management
- Experience with healthcare data and an understanding of relevant regulations a plus (e.g., HIPAA).
- Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, R), data analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau), and machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Bachelor’s degree in data management analysis, computer science, computer engineering, statistics, or other IT-related field, or equivalent work experience
A Day in the Life of a Director of Data and AI Architecture:
- Provide services and support for the following areas:
- Lead and mentor a data development team: The Director of Data and AI Architecture is responsible for leading and mentoring a team of data development professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Manage the data infrastructure and quality: The Director of Data and AI Architecture is responsible for managing the organization’s data infrastructure, maintaining and monitoring data quality, and driving initiatives to address any issues or gaps. This includes a focus on data preparation for AI use cases.
- Build and implement a data strategy: The Director of Data and AI Architecture is responsible for developing and implementing a data strategy that aligns our technology stack with organizational goals. This also includes evangelizing and overseeing data literacy within the organization.
- Oversee the information supply chain: The Director of Data and AI Architecture is responsible for overseeing data pipeline development across various cloud and on-premises technologies to ensure a seamless information supply chain that is scalable, reliable, and high-performing.
- Foster partnerships internally and externally: The Director of Data and AI Architecture is responsible for developing effective relationships with internal and external domains to ensure a deep understanding of the organization’s data needs.
- Stay informed and recommend new data technologies: The Director of Data and AI Architecture is responsible for staying informed about emerging data integration and management technologies and trends, evaluating and recommending new tools, technologies, and platforms to meet business requirements. Curiosity and innovation are encouraged!
- Ensure data security and compliance: The Director of Data and AI Architecture is responsible for collaborating to ensure data security, regulatory compliance, and reduce the data risk surface area through state-of-the-art data handling standards.
