The Role

Leads the Data Governance framework to enhance data quality, integrity, and accuracy, developing policies and standards in collaboration with stakeholders. Leads assurance activities, implements governance processes, and provides training to ensure compliance and continuous improvement in data management practices.

  • Manages the Data Governance framework by adopting strategies, processes, and a roadmap to enhance data quality, integrity, and accuracy.
  • Develops and maintains the Data Governance policy with input from various stakeholders across different teams in the Firm.
  • Establishes the Data Governance structure by implementing best practices to elevate it from a low maturity level.
  • Develops data standards and data quality rules in collaboration with data delivery teams and key stakeholders.
  • Leads assurance activities on system access, data retention schedules, and compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Implements an end-to-end governance process to ensure that all reported key performance indicators are tested, reconciled, and consistent.
  • Leads the assessment of opportunities for data quality and process improvement, identifying issues, root causes, and remedies, reporting compliance findings and corrective actions to senior management.
  • Designs and calibrates controls to ensure that all reported metrics are fully defined in terms of business logic.
  • Develops and facilitates data management and data governance training to prevent non-compliance and mitigate risk.
  • Leads and develops high-performing team(s), driving talent development and fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing data governance frameworks, strategies, and roadmaps within a large organisation.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain policies, standards, and data quality rules in collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Skilled in assessing data quality and implementing process improvements, including root cause analysis and providing actionable remedies.
  • Strong track record in designing and implementing controls to ensure accurate, consistent, and reconciled key performance indicators or metrics.
  • Solid understanding of data management and governance principles, including compliance with local laws, regulations, system access security, and data retention requirements.
  • Hands-on experience in leading assurance activities to monitor adherence to data governance policies and identifying corrective actions.
  • Experience in delivering training programmes to build awareness and compliance with data governance processes across diverse teams.
  • Proven leadership capabilities, including managing and developing high-performing teams while fostering an inclusive and collaborative culture.
  • Ability to drive stakeholder engagement, communicate complex data governance concepts clearly, and secure buy-in at varying levels of seniority.
  • Deep knowledge of best practices in data governance and integrity, particularly in environments with low maturity, and demonstrable success in elevating maturity levels.
