Job Summary

The Division of Women’s Health at Brigham and Women’s Hospital is seeking a research analyst to work with the Division of Women’s Health. S/he will be responsible for the design, conduct and analysis of a varied set of epidemiologic and clinical research analyses, with a focus on longitudinal studies. Analyst will also advise on recent developments in epidemiologic methods.

The position will be based in the Division of Women’s Health at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in the Longwood Medical Area. The position is being offered as a part time position.


 

Qualifications

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Advise laboratory group in causal inference and other epidemiologic methods
  • Write manuscripts with colleagues as first author and as co-author
  • Conduct analytic/statistical programming in SAS or R for a varied set of epidemiologic analyses
  • Other research-related duties as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:  

Required:

  • Doctoral degree and at least 2 years working on similar projects in similar settings
  • Graduate-level coursework/research experience in epidemiology and biostatistics
  • Excel, SAS programming, and data analysis experience
  • Experience in application of causal inference methods to longitudinal datasets
  • Experience writing epidemiologic manuscripts in English

SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • Excellent knowledge of computer programs, databases, etc. including SAS, Excel, Word
  • In-depth understanding of statistical methods
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with writing methods sections of papers
  • Ability to work independently as well as in team settings
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize a variety of tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for working with co-investigators
