About the role...

We are growing the People Analytics function at Duolingo and are looking for an outstanding individual to help elevate the team to its next stage. The ideal candidate should have experience in People Analytics, including creating dashboards, working with data warehouses, and understanding statistical and analytical methods. Knowledge with core people metrics is essential. As strategic partners to the broader People Team, we aim to empower the organization with data-driven insights and develop innovative analytical solutions to complex talent-related challenges.  

  You will...

  • Partner with collaborators in People and other departments to identify analytical needs and translate them into solutions and dashboards
  • Use a mix of internal and third-party AI tools to analyze, visualize, and communicate data insights that drive talent decisions.
  • Build and maintain a suite of People metric reports with a focus on data security, accuracy, and usability
  • Educate data consumers through training, documentation, and one-on-one coaching to improve data literacy
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of data in our People data warehouse across all systems
  • Drive automation and continuous improvements in our reporting processes, prioritizing scalability and efficiency
  • Act as a thought partner in critical initiatives, bringing an analytical approach and creative problem-solving
  • Lean into using AI in new ways to improve access to data and how the entire organization operates

  You have...

  • An acute attention to detail, stellar time management, strong planning, and excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proven success in building strong, trusted relationships within diverse groups, especially with those you work most closely with
  • Experience ideating, building, and prototyping with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Cursor, or similar, to enhance efficiency in data workflows or storytelling.
  • The ability to thrive and be resilient in a fast-paced, hyper-growth organization
  • A high sense of discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive data
  • A willingness to learn and be resourceful, while being self-motivated and excited about developing your analytical and problem-solving skills

   Requirements

  • Minimum of a baccalaureate degree
  • 3-5 years of People Analytics experience, with time spent supporting multiple HR subject areas
  • A logical approach and/or data-driven mentality, balanced with flexibility and understanding of business needs
  • Consistent track record of influencing decisions and optimizing outcomes via People Analytics-based insights and partnership
  • Experience with data warehouses, at least one common coding language (ex., Python, SQL, etc), and at least one common BI Tool (ex., Tableau, Looker, Sigma)

  Exceptional candidates will have...

  • Prior experience in high-growth startup environments
  • Shipped AI-driven products or tools that have meaningfully impacted people analytics, talent strategy, or workforce planning.
  • 5+ years of People Analytics experience, covering the entire spectrum of an HR organization, and have been looked to as a strategic partner known for delivering business results
  • A degree or experience in math, statistics, or a similar field, with the ability to perform advanced statistics and develop analytical models
  • Fluency in Google apps, Workday, Greenhouse, Jira, and other People systems
  • An impressive Duolingo streak!
