Senior Business Analyst / Financial Analytics & Customer Insights

General Description

Provides actionable insights to business operations through data modeling and analysis to streamline decision-making, strategy creation, and tactical execution. Works directly with internal customers to understand the business environment and needs. Design, develop, and produce statistical and other analytic reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Utilize advanced data analytics techniques to analyze large volumes of data, including transactional data, demographic data, and behavioral data, to gain insight into customer behaviors and preferences.
• Perform and manage all the steps required for analyses including requirements gathering, methodology development, data extraction, data processing, analysis, insight formulation and results delivery.
• Develop predictive models to identify sale opportunities across customer segments and support personalization efforts.
• Provide recommendations for growth, cost reduction and optimization of operational performance. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made.
• Translate complex analysis into actionable intelligence and recommendations to Leadership team.
• Support targeted business activities, including opportunities for product and process improvement with a focus on driving significant business growth.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on customer insights, data analysis, and analytics, providing guidance and support to team members and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and present analyses, results, forecasts, and recommendations.

This Job has no supervisory responsibilities but in special circumstances may lead the work of others.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Business Administration, Applied Mathematics or a related field.

A Master's degree is preferred.

Experience

Three (3) years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst, Data Scientist, Data Analyst, or similar role, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.  

Experience in statistical modeling and predictive analytics.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of retail banking products, services, and operations.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for leveraging data and analytics to drive customer-centric strategies and enhance customer experiences.
• Strong proficiency in data analysis and data manipulation using programming languages such as SAS, Python or R.
• Advanced skills in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL) and experience with business intelligence and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to effectively communicate insights.
• Solid understanding of database systems, data warehousing, and SQL querying.
• Ability to create and facilitate effective presentations in English and Spanish.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (verbal / written); ability to communicate effectively with different audiences in both English and Spanish.
