About the Role:

Plays a strong role in advancing neuroscience drug development programs using innovative data science and informatics approaches and pipelines. The initial focus will be in advancing AI/Machine learning (ML) capabilities by using diverse multi-omics datasets to understand mechanisms of drug action and enhance our drug programs through AI/ML predictive tools. Supports preclinical and clinical studies, coordinates complex sequencing datasets, and guides collaborative projects to ensure effective communication and coordination.

Your Contributions:

  • Research, expand, and validate analytical models using leading AI/ML techniques, including supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, and transformer models

  • Supports development of reliable and impactful AI/ML model approaches into production environments

  • Train and fine-tune AI models using internal datasets

  • Continuously refine processes and workflows to boost efficiency, effectiveness, and reproducibility of AI/ML solutions

  • Analyze large, complex sequencing datasets, including single brain cells and cell lines

  • Integrate multi-omics (RNA-seq, proteomics), imaging, and clinical trial datasets into AI pipelines

  • Leverage scRNASeq to contextualize target gene expression in the context of cell types, disease biology and phenotypes

  • Build and implement AI/ML techniques to build pipelines for antibody design and optimization including structure prediction, sequence modeling and representation, affinity, selectivity, and drug-like properties

  • Drives cross-team projects and external initiatives to integrate AI/ML models into drug discovery pipelines, ensuring effective communication and coordination

  • Stay current with industry trends and apply best practices to improve internal tools and processes

  • Develop methods for integrating and visualizing multi-omics data

  • Implement quality control measures and standard operating procedures

  • Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate findings to stakeholders

  • Stay updated with AI/ML advancements and drive accelerated internal innovations

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree in data science or related discipline and 4+ years of related experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry

  • Master’s degree in data science or related discipline and 2+ years of related experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry

  • PhD in data science or related discipline and related experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry

  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in neuroscience and drug discovery, with a focus on AI/ML and genomic research

  • Has knowledge of best practices in the functional discipline and familiarity with the broader underlying concepts of related business disciplines

  • Works to improve tools and processes within functional area

  • Developing reputation inside the company as it relates to area of expertise

  • Ability to support or may lead multiple more complex projects and initiatives

  • Exhibits ability to work as part of a team, may train lower levels

  • Excellent computer skills

  • Strong communications, problem-solving, analytical thinking skills

  • Detail oriented yet can see broader picture for the department

  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines across a variety of projects/programs, with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency

  • Strong project management skills

  • Ability to code in R/Python and establish best practices for reproducible data analyses

  • Experience in TensorFlow/PyTorch, scikit-learn and transformer workflows

  • Experience in command line and Linux environments

  • Experience with cloud computing platforms and high-performance computing environments

  • Expertise with state-of-the-art AI/ML models such as generative models (diffusion), language models (transformers), multimodal learning, geometric deep learning, graph representation learning

  • Extensive experience in integrating data from genetics, proteomics, single cell, transcriptomics, and molecular data to derive insights into indications and molecular mechanisms

  • Must understand the underlying science and the "why" behind the data, not just the AI/ML tools

  • Expertise in bridging the gap between multiple biomarkers and machine learning approaches

  • Knowledge of protein structure analysis, antibody biology, and therapeutic antibody design principles

  • Ability to integrate and visualize multi-omics data, including single cell, proteomics, and transcriptomics

  • Ability to develop or customize data analysis pipelines and algorithms

  • Experienced in quality control measures and standard operating procedures to process sequencing data

  • Competence in managing and analyzing complex datasets

  • Familiar with current industry trends and best practices in data science

  • Strong ability to lead and collaborate on cross-team projects and external initiatives

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $101,200.00-$146,550.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 20% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
