Prisma Photonics
Prisma Photonics helps utility operators to keep critical infrastructure running using existing optical fiber.Description
Prisma-Photonics is a rapidly growing startup company, developing the next-generation smart-infrastructure solution based on novel fiber-sensing technology (smart roads, smart cities, perimeters, and grid monitoring, etc.). The company offers an award-winning disruptive solution; a “sensor free” approach to smart infrastructure. The company is VC backed and in the revenues stage.
Combining pioneering technology in optical fiber sensing with state-of-the-art machine learning, we help prevent environmental disasters, protect human lives, and keep critical energy and transportation backbones running smoothly.
We are looking for a Senior Deep Learning Researcher with experience, skills, and data-driven reasoning to take a leading role in solving our core data science challenges. To meet these, you will be expected to exhibit outside-of-the-box thinking and leadership skills, while collaborating with the engineering, hardware, data, and field application teams.
As a member of our ML team at Prisma Photonics, you will tackle unique challenges in the domain of Optical Fiber Sensing. Fiber Sensing measures the acoustic signal along an optical fiber and is interpreted as a continuous acoustic signal originating from tens of thousands of microphones spanning hundreds of kilometers. You will cultivate a deep familiarity with this domain and research novel Deep Learning approaches that address domain-specific challenges in detecting, classifying, and tracking spatiotemporal events.
What You’ll Do:
- Spearhead deep learning projects that tackle real-world challenges, pushing the boundaries of what is possible.
- Go beyond the treaded path and invent new machine learning and deep learning methods towards a wholly novel data domain.
- Harness advanced data analysis and visualization tools to gain insights from complex real-world data.
- Proactively seek new directions for tackling hard-to-crack problems, including devising real-world experiments and data collection, and collaborating with fellow physicists and engineers.
- Develop multidisciplinary expertise in physics, engineering, and other adjacent expert fields.
- Stay at the forefront of your field with continuous learning and in-depth research into cutting-edge topics.
- Thrive in a dynamic setting where rapid prototyping and fast-paced project turnovers are the norms.
What You Bring:
- Advanced degree (M.Sc. or higher) in a relevant field (Computer Science, EE, Physics, etc.).
- 5+ years of experience in the industry.
- Experience with DL, ML, and numerical libraries like: PyTorch, Tensorflow, NumPy, Pandas.
- Solid Python programming skills.
- Proven track record in solving novel DL challenges.
- Algorithmic and Deep learning design skills.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
- Strong Data analysis and presentation skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Great to Have:
- Previous publication record in ML and adjacent disciplines.
- Experience with seismic data and geophysics.
- Experience with DL in Audio.
- Experience with Tracking and Estimation algorithms.
- Familiarity with the DevOps, and Big Data infrastructure.
