We are seeking an experienced Robotic System Engineer to lead the design, development, and integration of cutting-edge robotics hardware. This role emphasizes system-level architecture, custom PCB design, and hardware integration for robotic platforms, sensors, and control systems. You will work closely with customers, software engineers, AI researchers, and cross-functional teams to bring high-performance robotic solutions from concept to functional prototypes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the design and rapid prototyping of system-level architectures for next-generation robotic platforms with novel sensors, actuators, and control.
    • Design and develop custom PCB assemblies
    • Evaluate subsystems, components, materials, and processes
    • Select and integrate critical hardware components (e.g., processors, sensors, actuators) to meet performance, cost, and reliability targets.
    • Validate and calibrate hardware for performance and integrity.
    • Identify and troubleshoot system-level issues related to electrical, mechanical, and thermal performance.
    • Rapid iteration based on test results, performance metrics, and user feedback.
  • Work with customers (enterprises, startups, academia) to understand their use case, architect a solution and execute on a rapid prototype.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, software, and AI teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components.
  • Work closely with software and AI engineers to develop hardware systems for advanced AI algorithms and real-time control.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including schematics, assembly instructions, and design reviews.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in robotics hardware, sensors, and AI-driven control architectures.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of full-time experience in system design, integration, electro-mechanical systems, particularly in robotics.
  • Proficiency in PCB design tools, such as Cadence Allegro, and hardware design methodologies.
  • Strong programming skills in C++ and Python, and familiarity with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • Familiarity with robotic systems (sensors and actuators), system integration, and robotic software such as ROS2.
  • Experience with hardware debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, a proactive approach to cross-disciplinary challenges, and collaborative working style in fast-paced, innovative environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex hardware concepts to non-hardware audiences.
  • Preferred: familiarity with
    • robotic control systems, kinematics, and motion planning.
    • applied AI and machine learning
