AI Governance & Architecture Manager

POSITION PURPOSE

The AI Governance & Architecture Manager will be responsible for driving the adoption and implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies within the organization. This role is critical to establishing a structured, sustainable, and compliant approach to AI and GenAI initiatives across Zentiva. As AI capabilities expand and regulatory frameworks such as the EU AI Act evolve, this position will ensure that AI is governed responsibly, adopted effectively, and architected efficiently within the enterprise IT landscape.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Governance & Compliance

• Lead the implementation of AI governance frameworks aligned with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., EU AI Act).
• Define, communicate and enforce AI usage policies, risk assessments, and ethical guidelines.
• Serve as the primary liaison with legal, compliance, and data protection teams on AI-related matters.

Engagement & Adoption

• Drive AI awareness and education through initiatives like the Copilot Academy.
• Promote responsible AI adoption across business units by identifying use cases and supporting implementation.
• Act as a central point of contact for AI-related queries, proposals, and escalations.

Architecture & Operations

• In collaboration with vendors, he or she designs and maintains scalable, secure, and cost-effective AI architectures, including components such as LLM proxies and inference pipelines.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to integrate AI capabilities into existing systems.
• Monitor AI system performance, cost, and reliability, and continuously optimize for efficiency.
• Stay updated on the latest AI trends and technologies to continuously improve AI adoption efforts.

Program & Project Leadership

• Manage AI-related projects and maintain their portfolio across the organization.
• Maintain detailed documentation of AI projects, including use cases, implementation plans, and performance metrics.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's or university degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• Proven experience in GenAI governance, architecture, cloud platforms or enterprise IT leadership
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Experience with cross-functional project management and change enablement.
• Knowledge of ITIL framework
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
• English advanced

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with the EU AI Act and other emerging AI regulations.
• Experience in ML governance and architecture
• Knowledge of cost control strategies for AI infrastructure (e.g., LLM cost optimization).
• Proven experience in AI adoption, implementation, and project management within a pharmaceutical or similar industry (including basic knowledge of IT-related frameworks (EudraLex Volume 4 – Annex 11, EU GMP Guidelines, 21 CFR Part 11 (FDA))
• Czech/Slovak advanced
