The Associate Pricing and Category Data Analyst supports category management teams by leveraging analytical capabilities to evaluate pricing performance, identifies opportunities, and delivers actionable insights. This role partners closely with Category Managers to develop data-driven recommendations that enhance profitability, optimize pricing strategies, and support key business initiatives.
- Provide both strategic and detailed analysis by tracking performance and delivering actionable insights to support pricing and category strategies, initiatives, and goals.
- Influence and manage pricing segmentation rules and constraints within the price optimization system to drive sales and profitability.
- Develop and maintain segmentation strategies across guest behavior, competitive landscape, store traffic, and product categories.
- Create and evaluate pricing scenarios, assess their effectiveness, and present findings and recommendations for approval by the appropriate Category Manager.
- Analyze pricing data, sales trends, and market conditions to stay informed on the current business environment and economic factors.
- Lead and contribute to special projects that impact both pricing and category management, delivering measurable business improvements.
- Proactively prepare and present analysis to support vendor-submitted deals, cost negotiations, promotions, space allocation decisions, and product and program development.
- Collaborate with internal technology and analytics teams to enhance tools and processes that inform and improve pricing and category decisions.

Compensation:
Starting pay range: $60,200 - $79,065. Actual pay may vary based on Casey’s assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, and qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include local prevailing wages and internal equity. This position is eligible for an annual cash bonus based on company performance. Our full salary range for this role does extend beyond the hiring range listed, allowing team members the opportunity to continue to grow within the company.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience is required.
- Experience with Pricebook or Price Optimization Capabilities
- Experience with Business Intelligence platforms and/or SQL.
- Familiarity with Circana, NielsenIQ or other syndicated data sources.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and build strong professional relationships across teams.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, perform insightful analysis, and present findings to influence decision-making at all levels.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, initiatives, and tasks is required.
- Sound judgment, planning, and prioritization skills, especially in Test & Learn fast-paced, dynamic environments.
