About your role,

The Operations Analyst plays a critical role in enhancing operational efficiency and productivity, improving asset utilisation, cost-effectiveness and strategic decision-making within the IOR Group. This role involves collecting, analysing and interpreting data related to fuel distribution, aviation, infrastructure maintenance & fabrication, and transport business units. The role works closely with cross-functional teams to identify process improvements, monitor KPIs, support project planning, and ensure compliance.

• Business Analytics & System Enhancements: Maintain pricing tools and support freight contract reviews, operational performance tracking, and system improvements (e.g., Gearbox, Dashboard, Stockouts, Load Planner).
• Advanced Data Analysis & Reporting: Leverage large datasets to extract actionable insights. Build interactive dashboards in Tableau to visualise trends, metrics, and business performance.
• Data Infrastructure & Governance: Ensure efficient storage and retrieval within data warehouse environments, collaborating with IT and data engineering to optimize infrastructure.
• Strategic Insights & Stakeholder Engagement: Identify opportunities through analytics and present evidence-based recommendations to leadership for informed decision-making.
• Process Optimisation & Cross-functional Collaboration: Drive process improvements by identifying inefficiencies and working closely with business units to deliver tailored analytical solutions and support ad-hoc requests.

About you

• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Analytics, Computer Science, or similar, with experience using Tableau and/or Power BI for data storytelling.
• Skilled in Excel, SQL, R, and Python for querying and data extraction across large-scale datasets and warehouse environments.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to data accuracy, with a passion for continuous improvement and navigating ambiguity.
• Capable of translating complex analytics into clear insights for diverse, non-technical audiences.
• Eager to explore AI, machine learning, and predictive modelling to unlock deeper business intelligence.
