We are seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to join our dynamic team focused on building secure, scalable, and real-time data solutions. This role will play a key part in enabling our fraud detection, analytics, and compliance initiatives by delivering reliable and high-performance data systems. You'll collaborate across disciplines, apply cutting-edge technologies, and play a leadership role in shaping our data infrastructure.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, monitor, and report on key platform and service metrics.
  • Design and deliver both stand-alone and distributed applications to enhance data security across the stack.
  • Build and integrate tools that identify insecure data storage and help developers avoid data security pitfalls.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance data tools, systems, and processes.
  • Ingest, enrich, and manage data from multiple sources to enable meaningful analytics.
  • Design and develop dashboards that provide a 360-degree view of data posture in relation to fraud detection and prevention.
  • Aggregate data streams to deliver transparent and reliable metrics that reflect real-time operational control effectiveness.
  • Represent the team as a subject matter expert in meetings and collaborative initiatives.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in data engineering, analytics, or a related technical role.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with ETL tools such as SSIS.
  • Hands-on experience with stream processing technologies (e.g., Kafka, Storm).
  • Familiarity with logging and monitoring platforms (e.g., Splunk, Syslog, ELK).
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Python, PHP).
  • Exposure to big data and processing frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Pig, Hive, Impala).
  • Experience integrating data from multiple sources into scalable pipelines.
  • Understanding statistics and basic machine learning techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and container orchestration using Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Elasticsearch for indexing, querying, and analytics on large datasets.
  • Attention to detail in high-control, compliance-focused environments.
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux) and networking protocols.
  • Understanding of regular expressions.
  • Bonus: Experience with Tableau or other BI tools.
