The Performance Management & Insights (PM&I) team at IQVIA delivers high-impact analytics and reporting solutions that empower life sciences clients to make faster, data-driven decisions. Our team combines deep industry expertise with technical excellence in data engineering, business intelligence, and client engagement. We work collaboratively across roles to transform complex data into actionable insights that drive strategic outcomes. We are seeking a skilled and client-focused Data Engineer to join our growing team. This is a primarily home-based role, with occasional travel to our Wayne, PA office required for team collaboration and client meetings.  As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for transforming raw data into actionable insights through robust data pipelines and BI data models. You will work directly with clients to gather business requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver scalable data solutions. This is a highly collaborative and communicative role that bridges technical development with business strategy. 

Responsibilities: 

·       Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for large and complex datasets using SQL and other modern data engineering tools. 

·       Develop and optimize data models for BI tools such as Power BI and Tableau and in-house BI tools to support reporting and analytics. 

·       Collaborate directly with clients and internal stakeholders to gather and clarify business requirements. 

·       Translate non-technical business needs into technical specifications and communicate technical constraints or design decisions to non-technical audiences. 

·       Perform root cause analysis on data issues and identify opportunities for data quality and process improvements. 

·       Document ETL processes and contribute to Business Requirements Documentation (BRD). 

·       Support cross-functional teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications: 

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 

·       3–5 years of experience in complex SQL query development. 

·       3+ years of experience in data modeling for BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). 

·       3+ years of experience building and maintaining data pipelines for big data environments. 

·       Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work directly with clients and explain technical concepts clearly. 

·       Familiarity with programming languages such as Python and C# is preferred. 

·       Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git); experience with Octopus is a plus. 

·       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

·       Experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare, or related industries is preferred. 

·       Snowflake experience preferred

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $74,700.00 - $186,700.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
