Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The RAPID division is the world leading provider of reticle inspection solutions for the semiconductor industry. The company provides inspection solutions to both the mask shops and the semiconductor fabs to ensure that lithography yields are consistently high thus enabling cost-effective manufacturing.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

We seek a highly experienced and motivated Senior Leader to run our Algorithm groups. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leading a large group in the development of conventional signal processing algorithms as well as AI and Deep Learning solutions. This role requires a visionary leader who can drive innovation, manage a large diverse, multi-location team, and collaborate across departments to achieve strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management

  • Lead and mentor a team of algorithm engineers and leaders, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans for the Algorithm group, aligning with the company's overall objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, hardware, and product development to integrate algorithm solutions into products.

Algorithm Development

  • Oversee the development and optimization of conventional signal processing algorithms.
  • Drive the research and implementation of AI and Deep Learning solutions to enhance product capabilities.
  • Ensure the robustness, scalability, and performance of algorithmic solutions.

Project Management

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality of outcomes.
  • Allocate resources effectively and adjust priorities based on project needs and business goals.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.

Leadership Development and Succession Planning    

  • Identify and nurture high-potential team members, providing opportunities for growth and development

Technical Expertise

  • Connect product and application requirements to algorithm requirements, capabilities and success criteria.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in signal processing, AI, and Deep Learning technologies.
  • Provide technical direction and support to the team, guiding the development of and promoting innovative solutions.
  • Evaluate and integrate new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to improve algorithm development processes.

Cross-Division Collaboration

  • Foster strong relationships with other divisions to ensure alignment and synergy in achieving company-wide goals.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between the Algorithm group and other departments, such as marketing, sales, and customer service.
  • Leverage cross-division expertise to enhance the development and implementation of algorithmic solutions.

Qualifications:

  • PhD or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with a focus on signal processing and AI/Deep Learning.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in algorithm development, with a strong emphasis on conventional signal processing and AI/Deep Learning.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing large high-performing technical teams.
  • Experience in project management and delivering complex technical projects on time and within budget.
  • Deep understanding of signal processing techniques and AI/Deep Learning algorithms.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the semiconductor industry or related fields.
  • Knowledge of GPU programming and optimization.
  • Experienced with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Keras.
  • Experience in development of High-Performance Compute systems to support image capture and signal processing algorithms

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctorate (Academic) with minimum of 12 years of relevant experience OR
  • Master’s Level Degree with minimum of 15 years of relevant experience OR
  • Bachelor’s Level Degree with minimum of 17 years of relevant experience

Base Pay Range: $216,900.00 - $379,600.00 Annually

Primary Location: USA-CA-Milpitas-KLA
