Our team is at the forefront of developing an interactive simulator for autonomous vehicles, leveraging cutting-edge technologies like gaussian splatting, foundation models, agentic AI, and so on. We are seeking a highly creative and driven engineer to pioneer the development of a next-generation simulation environment. In this role, you will
- Spearhead the design, implementation, and optimization of a real-time 3D simulator.
- Develop and integrate novel deep learning algorithms to enhance the realism and capabilities of the simulator.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our system reliability and maturity in a production environment.
- Drive the research and prototyping of new ideas in neural rendering and simulation, contributing to our intellectual property portfolio
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including machine learning researchers, software engineers, and system architects, to translate ambiguous requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Champion a "safety-first" mindset throughout the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept to production, including formal validation and verification processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven track record of self-motivated, customer-oriented innovation, which may include patents, research papers, or cutting-edge work experience.
- History of owning the full product lifecycle - from prototype to production.
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++.
- Experience with 3D graphics and rendering pipelines.
Desirable Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with Gaussian Splatting, Structure from Motion (SfM), NeRFs (Neural Radiance Fields), and frameworks like Nerfstudio.
- Proficiency with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Experience with camera models, ray marching, and physically based rendering (PBR) techniques.
- Familiarity with applying diffusion models and other generative AI tools to image and 3D data.
- Experience building and maintaining services in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and working with containerization technologies like Kubernetes.
- Background in scaling geospatial data pipelines.
- Experience integrating software components into robotic or autonomous vehicle
The base salary range for this position is $146K-$234K Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
