The Team

The Integrated Research team focuses on all aspects of research and portfolio management for a range of the firm’s equity, macro, multi-strategy and managed futures products. This includes the day-to-day management of portfolios, the design and implementation of new signals and strategies, and new product development.

Your Role

AQR is looking to add a Senior Researcher with extensive experience in research, data analysis, and portfolio construction to our Integrated Research team. You will lead and collaborate with other senior researchers and portfolio managers to develop, enhance, and maintain sophisticated trading strategies for the firm. This role is ideal for experienced researchers with a strong track record in quantitative asset management, or systematic trading strategies across options arbitrage or mid-frequency alpha.

  • Lead the development and design of proprietary quantitative investment strategies.
  • Design and implement systematic strategies focused on options, futures, currencies, or ETFs. 
  • Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to identify and validate alpha signals.
  • Assist and guide the development of research infrastructure and analytical tooling to support scalable alpha research, simulation, and diagnostics.
  • Add features to proprietary research systems to implement new research ideas.

What You’ll Bring

  • B.S. in a quantitative field (e.g. Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Math, Engineering etc.), with advanced degrees preferred
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in quantitative research at a hedge fund, proprietary trading firm, or asset manager
  • Subject matter expertise in one or more of the following: systematic macro (currencies and futures) strategies, text-based alpha signals, systematic options arbitrage, mid-frequency signal research
  • Demonstrated success in independently generating and deploying alpha signals or strategies with measurable impact
  • Strong programming skills in Python (preferred) or similar languages; experience with research infrastructure and large-scale data systems is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage research pipelines from ideation to deployment

The salary range for this role is expected to be $175,000 to $200,000.  This is the range that we in good faith believe is accurate for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, depending upon factors such as skills, experience, location, or other business and organizational needs.  This wage range may also be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
