Our AI & Data department is tasked with realizing a fully autonomous network. Our AI & Data team stands at the leading edge of network transformation. We build, configure and operate AI solutions that optimize assurance, fulfillment, and inventory processes â ensuring network reliability, efficiency, and future readiness.
Job Description
As an AI Engineer, youâll build (agentic) AI to power KPNâs autonomous networksâcreating intelligent agents that observe, decide, and act to optimize performance in real time. Collaborating with business stakeholders, domain experts, and engineering teams, youâll design and maintain scalable AI pipelines that bring these capabilities into production and shape the future of self-managing networks.
Key daily responsibilities:
- Build, develop, and maintain intelligent (agenti)c AI systems that enable autonomous network optimization and decision-making.
- Build and maintain scalable AI/ML pipelines with a strong focus on reliability, performance and maintainability.
- Define and implement monitoring, testing, and governance strategies to ensure robustness and compliance of agentic AI solutions in production.
- Collaborate with network domain experts, data engineers, and software teams to integrate agentic solutions into real-time network environments.
- Translate network objectives into data-driven, self-adapting models using reinforcement learning and emerging Ai frameworks.
- Stay up to date on innovations in (agentic)Â AI, reinforcement learning, and telecom network automation.
Qualifications
You are eager to learn and can adapt quickly, both technically and personally. You have strong analytical skills and take ownership of your work. You enjoy working with both technical and non-technical colleagues and can make complex ideas easy to understand.
To be successful in this role, you bring:
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning, data engineering, software engineers, or a closely related technical discipline.
- A masterâs degree in a relevant technical field such as Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Econometrics, Mathematics, Engineers, or a comparable area of study.
- proven experience of designing and delivering production-grade AI/ML solutions that translate complex algorithms into measurable business value.
- Well-versed in software engineering methodologies and best practices â encompassing coding standards, code reviews, version control, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and security protocols.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Java, with hands-on experience using AI/ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) and data-processing frameworks.
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and deploying microservices using Docker, Kubernetes, and related container-orchestration techniques.
- Interest in reinforcement-learning and agentic AI, actively exploring emerging frameworks and research to advance to autonomous solutions.Â
