Position Summary:

Kemper is seeking a talented Senior Manager to join our Assurance & Advisory Services (A&A) team. You will be responsible for leading multiple strategic analytics and automation initiatives, driving innovation, operational efficiency, and risk mitigation. Partnering with A&A and business leaders to deliver data-driven insights and scalable solutions that strengthen the governance and control environment. Ā Overseeing a team of data analytics professionals and serves as a consultative advisor on control automation and analytics enablement.

Please note, this is not a remote position. We practice a hybrid schedule

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads and develops one or more individuals by providing feedback, coaching, and career development opportunities.
  • Defines and evolves the A&A analytics roadmap in alignment with enterprise data and risk strategies.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to automate controls and dashboards that improve the control environment and help the business achieve its organizational objectives.
  • Manages multiple concurrent projects, ensuring the work is risk-based, well-documented, and meets the defined business requirements.
  • Reviews analytic work products developed by other A&A team members to ensure the reliability and integrity of the tools and output created.
  • Interprets data and analyzes trends and patterns in complex data sets using statistical techniques; delivers insights through ongoing dashboardsĀ and reporting tools.
  • Establishes strong partnership with business leaders to support effective risk and control practices; advises senior leadership on best practices and automated risk mitigation strategies.
  • Champions innovation by piloting and deploying advanced analytics, robotic process automation (RPA), and AI/ML solutions to improve audit quality and coverage.
  • Stays informed on industry developments, regulatory trends, and emerging risks that may affect the business.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Data Science, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Coursework or certifications in AI, ML, or automation tools (e.g., UiPath, Azure ML) a plus.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in audit, data analytics, or related field, with a solid understanding of audit methodologies, risk management, and data mining.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience.
  • Preferred background within the Financial Services or Insurance industries.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to identify trends and synthesize insights from large, diverse data sets.
  • Proficient with data modeling, database design, and data mining techniques.Ā 
  • Advanced skills with tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, SQL, Python, or other programming languages preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed corporate environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Familiar with audit management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Certifications: One or more of the following preferred: CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE, CFA, or equivalent data/analytics credentials

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

The range for this position is $95,900-159,700. When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location among other factors.Ā  This job is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and Kemper benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401k, etc.)Ā Ā
