Institute for Marketing and Customer Analytics
Part-time, 10 hours/week
Starting as soon as possible, and ending after 6 months
 We are looking for highly motivated students with strong interest and know-how in marketing. The position is ideal for individuals who wish to deepen their marketing skills and join applied research projects on the interfaces between marketing and data science. 
 Please note that pursuant to the Collective Bargaining Agreement, only students who have not yet completed a master or diploma degree program can be employed.

What to expect

  • Research Support & Analyses Tasks:
  • Support in coding for applied research projects using Python and / or R (e.g., programming and maintaining scrapers for Amazon, Google, API requests for GPT, etc.)
  • Perform basic statistical analyses using Excel, R, Python or similar tools
  • Assist in A/B testing or user behavior analysis (e.g., using Hotjar or Google Optimize)
  • Collect, clean, and analyze data on consumer (online) behavior, preferences, and purchasing patterns
  • Design, distribute, and analyze surveys, polls, or questionnaires, experiments, or simulations (in lab or virtual settings)
  • Organize and clean marketing data from CRM systems, Google Analytics, online ad performance, website traffic, social media, survey tools, or other similar data sources
  • Content & Communication Support:
  • Conduct literature reviews and summarize findings
  • Assist in preparing PowerPoint presentations, reports, or pitch decks for research and lecture presentations
  • Draft summaries, briefs, or overviews of research insights
  • Administrative & Coordination Tasks:
  • Coordinate scheduling for focus groups, interviews, or field research
  • Liaise with vendors, survey platforms, or research participants
  • Maintain organized research files, databases, and source documentation
  • Assistance in preparing research proposals and grant applications

What you have to offer

  • Ongoing bachelor or master studies with at least 2 terms until graduation, ideally with a focus on marketing, economics, information systems, data science, or statistics, with above-average studying performance
  • Proactive attitude, independent and reliable task fulfillment
  • Efficient execution of organizing and structuring tasks
  • Excellent command of English, German language skills are an asset
  • Sound knowledge of statistics and good analytical skills in the field of marketing and customer analytics
  • Proficiency in using MS Office programs (to assist creating lecture contents and other course materials)
  • First experience in literature research: ability to use reference databases (e.g., WU catalogue, Google Scholar, or EBSCO)
  • Ability to extract key insights from literature, summarize research results, and write reports in order to assist ongoing research
  • Experience in working with a programming language (e.g., Python, JAVA) is an asset 
  • Experience in working with content management systems (specifically, WordPress and plugins) as well as HTML / CSS is an asset
  • Experience in working with the statistical software R, R Markdown and R Shiny would be an asset
