Senior Researcher

 

Fujitsu Research of America (FRA) is inviting applications for a Senior Researcher in the domains of Human-Centered AI, Machine Learning, and/or Computer Vision. Selected candidate will work from FRA’s Pittsburgh office. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of working on ML/CV modeling, building Human-AI systems, and/or designing and running simulations. In this role, you will lead research projects, target research publications at top conferences, and be responsible for systems that work in the wild, not just in experimental environments. 

Job responsibilities: 

  • Conduct research at the intersection of ML/CV and HCI.
  • Design and prototype applications combining a variety of devices and platforms
  • Publish research papers in reputed scientific journals, conferences. Showcase the work via presentation in invited talks, conferences, and workshops 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including researchers, software developers and external collaborators 

Essential requirements: 

  • PhD in ML/CV, HCI, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Strong track record of publishing research in top-tier conferences and journals such as CHI, UIST, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, AAAI, and others.
  • Coding experience in Python
  • Experience working with Gen AI

Preferred requirements: 

  • Experience with machine learning or computer vision-based technologies and libraries, and their integration into systems 
  • Coding experience in one or more front-end systems such as web application development, React etc.
  • Experience with 3D modeling and Unity / Unreal.

 

Fujitsu salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. ​ It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each situation. The pay range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: specific skills, qualifications, experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. The pay range for this position is estimated at $119,000 to $170,000 USD. Additionally, this role may be eligible for a short-term incentive based on company results and individual performance.
