ABOUT YOU:
We’re searching for a highly skilled, forward-thinking, collaborative Senior BI Engineer to join our team. As part of the Enterprise Analytics team, BI Engineers are responsible for leading the design, development, and maintenance of the BI platform implementation, semantic data modeling, reporting, and dashboarding capabilities. The ideal Senior BI Engineer candidate will be solution-oriented and passionate about data and its potential to drive business success.
Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee the implementation of robust BI solutions across the platform, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and alignment with business objectives.
Architect and design advanced BI solutions, including data models, dashboards, reports, and data visualizations.
Conduct in-depth audits of existing BI setups, identifying gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for optimization.
Conduct evaluations on new BI tools and make strategic recommendations around tool selections and upgrades.
Provide strategic recommendations for improving data accuracy, reducing latency in reporting, and enhancing BI capabilities through new technologies or methodologies.
Troubleshoot complex data issues, leveraging SQL, scripting languages, and debugging techniques to resolve discrepancies.
Build complex queries on large data sets and performance tune as needed.
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, marketing, product, and data teams to define BI requirements, troubleshoot issues, and ensure seamless data integrations.
Utilize relevant APIs (e.g., cloud platform APIs, BI tool APIs) to automate reporting, extract insights, and enhance BI implementations.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for BI implementations, ensuring transparency and knowledge sharing across teams.
Act as a thought leader in Business Intelligence, staying up to date on emerging trends and technological advancements.
Provide stewardship over enterprise reporting data and metrics and support ongoing efforts around data governance and data quality.
Lead a BI community of practice across the enterprise, ensuring adoption of best practices, building awareness on availability of solutions and BI tools capabilities.
Mentor team members and analysts on enterprise data use cases, data visualization and BI tools best practices.
Required Skills:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in cross-functional teams and communicate with colleagues in both business and technical roles
Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key business partners by building personal credibility and trust.
Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and prioritize workload
Demonstrate the ability to learn and understand business processes and relationship of systems and applications used to accomplish those processes
Strategic thinker with ability to understand business strategy, provide consultative business analysis, and leverage technical skills to create insightful, effective BI solutions
A work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations.
Required Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
10+ years of experience with BI Development/Analytics in a big data environment – dashboards, data modeling, metadata layer, using SQL queries, Tableau and/or PowerBI.
7+ years of experience working with business stakeholders or executives to translate business needs into data visualizations
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to debug complex BI issues efficiently.
Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects, balancing technical requirements with business needs.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience mentoring junior team members, and fostering skill development in BI solution design and troubleshooting.
Advanced proficiency in SQL and data modeling
Preferred:
Extensive experience in Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server/Tableau Cloud and Tableau Prep Builder
Experience with Tableau Server Administration and Embedded Analytics
Experience with semantic data modeling in Cube, dbt or equivalent

Salary Range$115,300.00-144,150.00Our Comprehensive Benefits Package includes:
