ABOUT THE ROLE
Fuelled by a recent $20M Series B funding round and consistent triple-digit year-over-year growth, Ovoko is gearing up to redefine its approach to Data & Analytics. To lead this effort, we’ve brought on a new VP of Data with a track record of building the data function at companies such as Typeform, Preply, and Moonpay.
With a vision to scale our team, infrastructure, and processes, we’re doubling the size of our data team and are actively hiring for a variety of key roles, including senior management, data engineering, analytics engineering, and analytics specialists across marketing, product, business strategy, and operations.

We're looking for an experienced Sr Analytics Engineer to own, design, implement, and scale multiple data models and products across our Data Warehouse, Semantic, and Reporting Layers. Your contributions will impact critical decisions and projects across our entire business, from marketing and product to shipping and supply operations.

IN THIS ROLE YOU

  • Be in charge of developing and expanding our Data Warehouse and BI solutions with a focus on simplicity, scalability, and reliability, ensuring they grow sustainably;
  • Design, implement, and refine ETL workflows for the core data model (Golden Layer), incorporating additional data sources as necessary, in collaboration with the Data Platform and Infrastructure teams;
  • Own and evolve the company’s KPIs framework, in conjunction with the top stakeholders across the organization;
  • Grow our semantic layer (LookML) while keeping into account diverse and everchanging business needs, advancing the vision for self-service analytics;
  • Own strategic reporting data products designed for leadership, finance, investors, and business performance monitoring;
  • Partner with data analysts, scientists, and backend developers to interpret business needs and deliver data prepared for analysis;
  • Act as a competence center for Data Analysts and Data Scientists, providing guidance to enhance their pipelines and eliminate inefficiencies, redundancies, and technical challenges;
  • Implement software development principles, including version control, code review, automated testing, lineage, and continuous integration, into the analytics codebase;
  • Evaluate, select, and deploy tools and frameworks to maintain data quality and governance.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3–4 years of relevant experience in a comparable role, designing and scaling complex data models for analytics and data science;
  • Strong coding skills in SQL and Python. Domain of DBT and coordination tools (e.g. Airflow, Dagster)
  • Prior experience modeling data for BI tools (preferably Looker);
  • A unique combination of technical expertise, business acumen, and communication skills, enabling you to persuade and influence data product stakeholders;
  • Curiosity, problem-solving skills, and a proactive, creative mindset;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. A minimum of B1-level English proficiency is required.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience with high-volume product events tracking implementation;
  • Domain of Semantic Layers (e.g. LookML, Cube);
  • Experience developing critical data processes to standardized definition of KPIs and taxonomy of events across medium/big organizations;
  • Knowledge of managed data warehousing solutions (Snowflake preferred).
SALARY
The offered salary for this position is 5000-6500€ (gross) per month. Please keep in mind that we are also open to discuss your salary expectations based on your competencies and experience.
