Responsibilities
We are currently expanding our team to develop, support, and modernize mission-critical applications for our customer, a world-wide recognized organization responsible for law enforcement and intelligence efforts.The Data Architect supports the design, development, and implementation of scalable and efficient data architecture solutions. Working under the guidance of senior architects, this position assists in translating business requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical data models, applications, and supports enterprise data strategies and standards. The Data Architect collaborates with data engineers, analysts, and business teams to ensure data structures and models support performance, governance, and accessibility needs. Key Responsibilities:• Assist in the design and development of data architecture components to support business applications and analytics platforms.• Support the creation of conceptual and logical data models that align with enterprise data strategy and ensure consistency across systems.• Participate in the development and implementation of relational and non-relational (NoSQL) databases, including data modeling, schema design, and optimization.• Collaborate with senior data architects to establish and maintain data architecture standards, policies, and best practices.• Contribute to metadata management processes by helping define, document, and maintain business and technical metadata in a centralized repository.• Analyze and review existing data models and object structures to identify opportunities for improvement in data management and performance.• Assist in translating business needs into long-term data architecture solutions, focusing on scalability, security, and integration.• Support data governance and data quality initiatives by helping establish data definitions, ownership, and validation processes.
The position may be located at a government facility in Huntsville, AL and typically requires work to be performed onsite. The government has established policies for on-site vs hybrid work which varies across divisions and contracts. Staff are obligated to adhere to these and other FBI policies and react accordingly as policies change over time. Where allowed, remote work must be coordinated with the team lead and/or government POC, ensuring there is zero interruption with the delivery of our services.
Requirements
• Active Top-Secret clearance, with SCI eligibility• Bachelor’s degree in IT with relevant work experience. • Four years of relative Experience in a data-centric role (e.g., data analyst, data engineer, junior architect, etc.).• Familiarity with data modeling techniques and tools (e.g., ER/Studio, ERwin, or equivalent).• Understanding of relational and non-relational database systems (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB). SOLICITATION/ REQ # Version 1.0 Page 3• Basic knowledge of metadata and data governance principles.• Proficiency programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, or similar).• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.• Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and quality.• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.• Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving data architecture tools and practices.• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
Desired
• Exposure to cloud data services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).• Experience working with data integration tools or ETL/ELT frameworks.• Knowledge of data warehouse or data lake architectures.• Understanding of Agile or DevOps environments.• Power Platform Suite of ToolsOverview
