Protect your sensitive information!We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our US Accounting team in the Burlington office. In this role, you will be responsible for month-end close activities, journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, expense report validation, and financial analysis across multiple entities. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, support audits, and contribute to process improvements and ad hoc projects.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, dependable, and results-driven, with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization. We are seeking someone who can execute organizational goals with urgency, precision, and accountability. This position does require at least 1 day in the Burlington office so must be within commuting distance to Burlington, MA.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Participate in monthly close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Prepare and record journal entries for liabilities, assets, and expenses by analyzing and compiling account data
Perform detailed analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts to identify and explain variances or unusual trends
Validate and process employee expense reports to ensure compliance with company policy and proper accounting treatment
Assist with internal and external audit requests by preparing supporting documentation and reports
Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to gather necessary financial data and ensure alignment
Continuously improve processes and controls related to financial reporting and reconciliation
Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards (e.g., US GAAP)
Contribute to ad hoc projects and requests as needed
WHAT YOU BRING
5+ years in accounting, including at least 2 years working on monthly close and audit prep
Experience preparing journal entries and reviewing general ledger activity
Comfortable working under US GAAP
Track record of spotting discrepancies or irregular trends in financial statements (with examples welcome in your application)
Used to working with other teams (finance, ops, HR) to track down missing data or clarify unclear items
Familiar with expense policy enforcement — e.g., manually reviewing reports or configuring tools like Expensify or Concur
Proficiency in Excel (vlookups, pivot tables), and ERP
Able to explain accounting choices to non-accountants clearly, without jargon
