Job Purpose

As we continue to expand our market share in the rapidly emerging Employee Experience platform category, we are looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to play a key role in the delivery of a greenfield platform with AI at its core. This is an opportunity to shape a cutting-edge product from the ground up, leveraging modern web technologies and cloud infrastructure, and working at the intersection of software engineering and applied AI.

As a senior member of the team, you’ll combine deep hands-on development expertise with architectural thinking, mentorship, and collaboration across disciplines. You will work closely with engineers, product designers, and engineering leadership to deliver scalable, performant, and secure applications that solve real-world problems through AI.

This is a hybrid role, with around 3 days per week expected in our Eashing office. Some on-call availability may be requested during critical periods, with prior arrangement.

Main Responsibilities

  • Own and contribute to the full software development lifecycle of new features and core platform capabilities, from architectural design to hands-on coding and deployment.
  • Design and build APIs, UIs, and services using a modern stack including Next.js, React, Node.js, and PostgreSQL or similar.
  • Collaborate to build intelligent features and decision-making workflows into user-facing products. Design and implement automated tests to validate and protect the quality and stability of the systems you work on.
  • Lead by example, promoting high-quality coding practices, automated testing, peer reviews, and continuous delivery.
  • Participate in team activities such as planning, retrospectives and reviews.
  • Help lead technical discussions that drive better decision-making and outcomes.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level developers, fostering a learning culture and helping others navigate complex technical challenges.
  • Ensure strong observability, performance monitoring, and security are baked into everything we ship.
  • Contribute to the technical vision of the product, evaluating and recommending new tools, libraries, and architectural patterns as needed.
  • Support and evolve CI/CD pipelines, automated test suites, and deployment practices.
  • Help enforce compliance standards such as data privacy, accessibility, security.
  • Comfortable leading architecture discussions, participating in code reviews, and guiding team decisions.

Requirements

  • A passion for building, shipping and supporting high quality software.
  • Strong motivation to work with cutting-edge tools and development practices.
  • Strong proficiency in modern full stack development, particularly with React, TypeScript, Node.js, Next.js, and database technologies such as PostgreSQL.
  • Experience working with cloud infrastructure, preferably with Azure or Vercel.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles, web architecture, and performance optimisation.
  • Familiarity with integrating and consuming AI models via APIs.
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
  • Knowledge of automated testing frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright) and best practices for test-driven development.
  • Experience with search technologies and indexing systems such as Elasticsearch, Typesense or Meilisearch with an understanding of performance, scalability, and relevance tuning.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment, balancing short-term needs with long-term scalability.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

  • Proficient in the use of advanced development environments and AI-powered tooling such as Cursor, with an emphasis on increasing velocity, improving code quality, and leveraging contextual AI assistance in day-to-day engineering workflows.
  • Exposure to incorporating LLMs into engineering workflows for production-ready applications, including prompt engineering and context management.
  • Familiarity with multiple LLM providers (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) and an understanding of their comparative strengths, trade-offs, and integration models.
  • Experience with AI/ML toolchains such as OpenAI, Hugging Face, LangChain, or custom model serving.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on greenfield projects, defining new patterns, processes, and tooling from the ground up.
  • Experience with GitHub Actions, Terraform, or similar DevOps tooling.
  • Familiarity with vector databases or hybrid search infrastructure (e.g., pgvector,  Pinecone).
  • Experience in data privacy, ethical AI, or governance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with real-time applications using technologies like WebSockets or serverless edge functions.
