Job Summary 

Keyrus is looking for a Data Curation Developer to help transform raw scientific data into high-quality, analysis-ready datasets. In this role, you will support research and development (R&D) initiatives by ensuring data privacy compliance, unifying diverse data sources, and enabling seamless integration into analytical platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform data curation tasks such as preprocessing, contextualization, and anonymisation to ensure datasets meet privacy standards and are ready for analysis.
  • Process datasets according to approved data reuse requests, ensuring compliance with regional data regulations (e.g., excluding subjects from restricted countries).
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code with strong quality controls.
  • Integrate various data sources, including clinical trials, real-world data, and omics, into standardised formats to support consistent and scalable analysis.
  • Provide peer reviews and coaching to uphold best practices in data curation and privacy.
  • Collaborate with R&D and data platform teams to define and develop business requirements for data curation activities.
  • Maintain close relationships with analytics and platform engineering teams to ensure data accessibility and usability.


Requirements for the role 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Experience in complex batch processing, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Airflow, Delta Lake, PySpark, Pandas, and other Python dataframe libraries
  • Experience curating and processing large-scale datasets while maintaining strict data privacy and security standards.
  • Strong background in working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
  • Understanding of data governance, especially related to anonymisation and compliance.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively present curated datasets and insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into scalable, technical data workflows.
  • Experience quantifying the business impact and value of data curation activities.
  • Experience in R is a plus.
  • Fluent in English
  • Must be a Portuguese or European citizen or have a work permit for Portugal
