The Position

As an intern your role will drive data engineering innovation to bridge the gap between business and IT teams to unlock SHE (Safety, Security, Health and Environmental Protection) data which drives high-impact decisions that enhance SHE outcomes and overall business performance. 

Become a key contributor by turning data needs into technical solutions—collaborate with Digital Solutions, Data and Insights Enablers, and IT to design and maintain impactful data pipelines within the Roche Data Insights Technology Stack!

The opportunity

• Engage with Digital Solutions Enablers, Data & Insights Enablers and Data Domain Leads: Build strong relationships across the SHE functions to understand the data landscape and pipeline needs, translating those needs into technical solutions.

• Data Pipeline Development: Develop, coordinate & collaborate with IT data engineers to design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines that extract, transform, and load data from various sources which will be the backbone of the SHE Data Domain

• Data Management: Ensure data quality, accuracy, and availability by implementing data validation processes, monitoring data pipelines, and resolving any data-related issues promptly.

• Data Standardization & Insights Engineering: Partner with data science and insights teams to transform raw data into data products that provide actionable insights and inform business decisions. Engage with dashboard development and develop insights from data.

• Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of the latest data engineering techniques, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of SHE data pipelines and data management processes.

Who you are

• Education: you are currently enrolled as a Bachelor or Master student at a university preferably in the field of Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related fields or you have finished your Master studies within 12 months

• Experience performing Data Engineering tasks, with a proven track record of delivering data-driven solutions

• Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms is advantageous

• Proficiency in Python, preferably with Pandas is a plus

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools, DataOps methodologies, and collaborative team environments

Additional Requirements

• Flexibility to work across time zones may be required.

Non-EU/EFTA citizens must enclose a confirmation from the university that a compulsory internship is part of the training with their application documents.
