This role provides strategic data analysis for a large utility client overseeing a state-wide electric vehicle consumer incentive program and other automotive clients. Produces data science insight through the aggregation of disparate data sources; utilizing cutting-edge data analysis techniques and tools to deliver findings that will ultimately serve to guide program design and maximize the effectiveness of our impact on client business objectives. Provides ad hoc analysis for client projects, program evaluation, and new business opportunities. Open to growth of responsibilities commensurate with skillset and experience. Runway to become a resident expert in successful program design for consumer market of electric vehicles.

This role develops and leads data analysis and visualization efforts. Interfaces with internal and external audiences across Maritz clients. Takes a leadership role in making recommendations resulting in program enhancements and measurable business results. Adds data intelligence to existing applications and software.

Location: Detroit, MI - The selected candidate must reside within commuting distance of Detroit, MI to interact with clients on an as needed basis.

Reporting and Working Relationships

Reports to Senior Data Strategist, Maritz Automotive. Interacts significantly with account teams on assigned accounts, including such business roles as Sales, Operations, Solution Design, Solution Strategists, Finance, Technology, Marketing, etc. Interacts significantly with Technology team and client to extract appropriate data files for analysis. May interact with other resources outside of assigned business unit. Interacts with existing or prospective C-level client contacts in face-to-face meetings to establish a relationship and manage client expectations as appropriate.

 

Primary Responsibilities

Dashboards and Data Visualization: 50%: Leads Performance Analytics Team contribution to strategic business reviews of assigned accounts. Strategically utilizes business intelligence knowledge and thorough understanding of core solutions offerings. Develops and updates analytics dashboards of assigned accounts on an ongoing basis. Emphasizes data storytelling, visualizing data into applicable insights and intuitive dashboards for client presentations and ongoing reference.

 

Client Engagement: 20%: Incorporates client-facing skills with strategic presentation skills to establish a credible relationship with clients and prospects. Serve as day-to-day client contact for analytics questions, requests, and thought leadership. Acts as a subject matter expert, presenting analytic services and insights to clients in both pre-sale and post-sale situations. Presents findings and recommendations to C-level clients in face-to-face meetings for client programs, emphasizing data-driven strategic insights to drive business performance, while following quality control processes as established by the Performance Analytics Leadership.

 

Analysis Projects: 30%: Conducts analyses to measure the effect of programs, campaigns, or other efforts. Develops scope for ad-hoc analyses, executing as appropriate and converting ad-hoc analyses to standard offerings.  Consults other analytical resources to complete assigned client deliverables, and supports senior team members in their analyses. Identifies appropriate data sources (internal, client, 3rd party) and gathers data in an efficient and timely manner. Contributes to account team conversations to support crafting of strategic recommendations to client. Visualizes and communicates findings in a clear, understandable manner to non-technical audiences.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Statistics, Economics, Engineering, applied math, physics, computer science, operations research, or other quantitative program required. Additional degrees with relevant work experience will also be considered. Master’s or similar advanced degree a plus.

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in serving clients in a business or marketing environment. Experience with employee engagement, recognition, incentives, customer retention, and/or loyalty data a strong plus. Experience with email campaign and web analytics a strong plus.

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Experience with analytics dashboard tools such as Power BI and Google Data Studio.

  • Experience with relational database systems and knowledge of SQL required. Willingness to learn programming languages such as Python or R is expected.

  • Demonstrated ability to present complex models and ideas to decision makers using oral, written, and presentation skills.

  • Experience with behavioral science and/or behavioral economics a plus.
