At Thomson Reuters we are recruiting a team of motivated data professionals to transform how we manage and leverage our data assets.  This is a unique opportunity to join a diverse and global team. The Data & Analytics organization is looking for a highly motivated individual with strong and analytical skills for the position of Director, Demand & delivery.  This role will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of the demand pipeline within the Data Market place team, contributing to project execution, financial management and operational processes.

About the Role

As Director, Demand & Delivery you will be responsible for: 

  • Own the definition of demand for the data Marketplace team.
  • Accountable for the successful execution of technology projects including support and maintenance releases, minor functional releases.
  • Implements a customer-aware culture for their team, ensuring close working relationships with other Data & Analytics teams.
  • Allocates and schedules resources, resolves conflicts, and prioritizes projects to meet the needs of the business.
  • Participates in problem resolution recommendation for escalated issues.
  • Provides timely status updates for areas of team responsibilities within projects potentially including senior leaders, initiating escalation when necessary.
  • Third party engagement and management of defined workloads and provide oversight to third parties in project execution.
  • Ensures self and team development using disciplined processes, adhering to team/company standards and best practice guidelines, and corporate policies
  • Collaborate with Platform teams (Data Lake, Analytics platform & MDM) and contribute to target state definition.
  • Effectively communicate and liaise with other data management teams embedded across the organization along with data consumers in data science and business analytic groups.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders’ business teams, product owners and Architecture in defining roadmap.
  • Ensure transformation of legacy assets to target state architecture in done in a safe and timely manner, by accounting for all dependencies and risks.
  • Accountable for delivery across multiple projects/products by providing guidance and support to project leads to assist in removing project impediments.
  • Executes on technology strategies.
  • Optimizes project deliverables to ensure that technology design fits with existing product architecture and technology strategy.
  • Leads and manages the day-to-day activities of their team including supporting career development of team.  (Objective setting, performance management, etc.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, Computer Science or related technical degree preferred
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in Data and Analytics encompassing leadership experience for at least 7 years.
  • Experience managing demand and delivery of data & analytics work for a large global organization.
  • Proven ability to set direction and inspire team members to engage and deliver on a vision
  • Broad understanding of the technologies used to build and operate data and analytic systems
  • A management style that is collaborative, energetic, and results-oriented
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication, presentation, documentation, troubleshooting and collaborative problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and motivated by complex technical and business challenges.
  • Proficient in data warehousing, data engineering and knowledge of analytics engineering.
  • Experience in Information systems design, business analysis, business, and capability models.
  • Knowledge of AWS, Snowflake, Python, Data Vault a plus
