The opportunity 

The role of  BI Developer/Analyst (Power BI & Microsoft Fabric) is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards, data models, and analytics solutions that drive business insights and decision-making across HammondCare.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated BI Developer / Analyst with 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Power BI and working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric to join our Data & Analytics team.   

This is a permanent role is based in St Leonards, with hybrid working options.

Duties include

BI Solution Development

  • Design and develop scalable, interactive Power BI reports and dashboards tailored to business needs.
  • Develop semantic models, DAX measures, and Power Query (M language) transformations for efficient data processing.
  • Utilize Microsoft Fabric capabilities such as Dataflows Gen2, Lakehouses, Notebooks, and Pipelines to support modern data architecture.
  • Build and maintain data products using OneLake, ensuring alignment with organisational data governance.

Data Analysis and Business Engagement

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into data models, and deliver actionable insights.
  • Analyse and interpret trends, patterns, and anomalies in complex datasets to support strategic initiatives.
  • Proactively identify data quality issues and work with upstream teams to resolve them.

Performance Optimisation & Support

  • Optimise Power BI datasets, measures, and visuals for performance and usability.
  • Maintain existing reports, dashboards, and ETL processes, ensuring availability and reliability.
  • Provide ongoing support, training, and documentation to business users and team members.

Data Integration & Fabric Pipelines

  • Work with various data sources including SQL Server, Dataverse, Excel, SharePoint, and cloud services (e.g., Azure Data Lake, Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse).
  • Design and orchestrate data pipelines using Fabric to ingest, transform, and store data.  

Who are you?

  • Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in a Power BI Developer / Analyst role.
  • Strong expertise in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, Power Query (M).
  • Experience working with Microsoft Fabric (Dataflows Gen2, Lakehouse, Notebooks, Pipelines, OneLake).
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases (preferably SQL Server, Azure SQL).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft certifications such as PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst Associate) or DP-600 (Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer).
  • Experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) is desirable.
  • Exposure to data governance and security frameworks (e.g., row-level security, sensitivity labels).
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like Azure DevOps, JIRA, or Confluence.
  • Experience working within the Aged Care and Healthcare sector - desirable
