The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Data Engineer to join our dynamic data team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining our next-generation data platform, enabling us to unlock critical insights and drive data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will work with a modern data stack, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to solve complex data challenges.

Responsibilities:
●    Design, develop, and optimize scalable and reliable data pipelines using Python to extract, transform, and load (ETL/ELT) data from various sources into our data warehouse.
●    Architect and manage data models within Snowflake, ensuring optimal performance, data quality, and accessibility for analytics and reporting.
●    Write complex SQL queries to manipulate, analyze, and retrieve data for business intelligence, reporting, and application development.
●    Leverage AWS and GCP cloud services (e.g., S3, EC2, Lambda, Glue, BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage) to build and manage robust data infrastructure, ensuring high availability and cost-effectiveness.
●    Implement and maintain data governance, data quality, and data security standards across the data platform.
●    Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and product teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
●    Monitor data pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive measures to ensure data integrity and system reliability.
●    Mentor junior data engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of best practices.
●    Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies in data engineering, recommending and implementing improvements to our data stack.

Requirements:
●    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
●    5+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
●    Expert-level proficiency in Snowflake, including strong experience with SnowSQL, stored procedures, UDFs, and performance optimization.
●    Deep expertise in Python for data manipulation, scripting, and building data pipelines (e.g., Pandas, PySpark, data orchestration tools).
●    Advanced SQL proficiency with a strong understanding of relational databases, query optimization, and data warehousing concepts.
●    Extensive experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS or GCP), with a strong understanding of data-related services (e.g., AWS S3, Glue, Lambda, EMR; GCP BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage).
●    Familiarity with data orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect, Dagster).
●    Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
●    Solid understanding of data warehousing principles, dimensional modeling, and ETL/ELT methodologies.
●    Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to design elegant and efficient data solutions.
●    Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Bonus Points If You Have:
●    Experience with other data warehousing solutions (e.g., Redshift, Databricks).
●    Knowledge of streaming data technologies (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub).
●    Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI).
●    Experience with CI/CD pipelines for data engineering workflows.
●    Contributions to open-source data projects.
