SENIOR DATA ENGINEER 

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer who will be instrumental in ingesting, processing, and modeling structured and unstructured data from diverse sources—ranging from sensor and telemetry streams to regulatory documents, process logs, and operational systems. Your work will directly support LLM, predictive, and optimization models for process efficiency, resource planning, and compliance analytics.

 

What you will do:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines that seamlessly integrate with ML and LLM models to support Holcim's strategic initiatives.

  • Maintain optimal data pipelines, ready to be scaled across multiple locations in a hybrid cloud / edge environment.

  • Extract and assemble large, complex data sets to be consumed directly in machine learning models or analytics applications.

  • Proactively enhance and sustain the current data platform and ecosystem through actions such as system configuration, performance optimization, monitoring of data pipelines, and providing operational support to users.

  • Collaborate with data scientists and machine learning engineers to integrate data pipelines with ML models and deploy AI solutions into production.

  • Mentor and guide junior data engineers in their professional development, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

  • Design and implement data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and storage of diverse industrial data sources (e.g., time series, SCADA systems, logs, PDFs)

 

Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree (Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD) in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field.

  • 5 to 7+ years of experience in a Data Engineer, DWH/ETL developer, BI engineer, or similar analytics development role, with a proven track record of building data infrastructure or analytics pipelines in production environments.

  • Expert knowledge of SQL, with the capacity to efficiently extract and collate meaningful information from high-volume sources and structuring it into a comprehensive and usable data set.

  • Fluent English (C1)
