Role PurposeÂ
Establishing resilient, sustainable and reliable portfolios is critical to energy companies as they develop agile business models to navigate the Energy Transition. Our global Subsurface Research Team delivers integrated research, data analysis and industry-leading thought leadership, across the geo-energy landscape, enabling customers to make quicker, more effective decisions.Â
Reporting into our Subsurface Research Leadership, an experienced, highly motivated, innovative and performance oriented Senior Analyst is required to drive our Subsurface analytics agenda, including the use of AI, to provide our customers with advanced workflow solutions and insights that help them to make better informed investment decisions for the Energy Transition.Â
Main ResponsibilitiesÂ
Shape and lead the Subsurface Analytics agendaÂ
Collaborate across Wood Mackenzie on Synoptic initiativesÂ
Drive data and workflow analytics within Subsurface and, build data science driven analytics bench strength in Subsurface CoEÂ
Support and drive material Subsurface revenue growth through inception and delivery of AI-driven solutionsÂ
Build and develop a broad and deep relationship network with our customers. Engage to understand their needs and wants to drive development of our offerÂ
Originate and author unique, thought provoking and highly impactful written contentÂ
Supporting the Subsurface team vision and agenda and the development of our geo-energy products and servicesÂ

Qualifications and CapabilitiesÂ
BSc in a Geoscience or Reservoir Engineering discipline and a post-graduate data science degree, or equivalent experience.
5-10 years of relevant, professional experience in the energy sector, preferably within the Upstream Value Chain.Â
Expert data analytical skills and demonstrably comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of data analytics technology development and application.Â
Deep interest in, and knowledge of the global Energy Transition. Â
Experience in external relationship building and management. Â
Demonstrable commercial acumen.Â
A track record in demonstrating differentiated values and behaviours.Â
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Â
Demonstrable curiosity with a track record of impactful innovation.Â
ExpectationsÂ
We are a hybrid working company and the successful applicant will be required to be physically present in the office at least 2 days per week to foster and contribute to a collaborative environment. Full-time remote working is not an option for this role.Â
Due to the global nature of the team, a degree of flexible working will be required to accommodate different time zones.Â
