Plans, develops, implements, evaluates, and directs all operational and transformational activities of the center for informatics and analytics, as well as the development and integration teams. This is a highly visible position that works with the Chief Information Officer and Data Analytics Officer to implement strategic direction of enterprise informatics and analytics for the academic, research, and healthcare missions of the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC). Emphasis on Epic data is a critical component for success.Education & Experience
Education and Experience Required:Bachelor's degree and five (5) years experience in healthcare, data analytics and governance, data science, development and integration, team leadership, project management and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities:
- Works closely with the Chief Information Officer and Data Analytics Officer to provide vision, direction, development, and deployment of enterprise informatics and analytics strategy to enhance UMMC's academic, research, and healthcare missions.
- Directs the overall operations and activities of the center for informatics and analytics, as well as development and integration activities, ensuring compliance with university, local, state, and federal regulations. Provides leadership and direction in the development and production of the infrastructure and tools for enterprise informatics, analytics development and integration teams.
- Develops and implements short and long term organizational goals and strategic transformational plans, policies, and procedures; monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness, and outcomes required for improvement.
- Designs and executes key transformational initiatives such as data standardization, data quality improvement, enterprise data warehouse and overall process improvement for data, analytics, development and integration teams.
- Supports Data Analytics Officer in initiating and implementing advanced analytics initiatives that leverage state of art technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and cloud computing technologies to deliver significant performance improves for UMMC operational leaders.
- Collaborates with advisory and governance boards, UMMC administration, and senior leadership across UMMC's academic, research, and healthcare missions to implement and direct enterprise informatics, analytics, development and integration and ensure organizational yearly goals are established.
- Works closely with the Chief Information Officer and Data Analytics Office to establishes relationships and negotiates favorable contracts for the center. Recruits competent staff to meet the operational needs of the center. Provides appropriate orientation for new staff so that they understand their roles, accountabilities, and performance expectations.
- Acts as the CIA representative when working with the legal department, contracts and research administration offices for all internal and external grants and contracts development. Ensures that all projects, program evaluations, initiatives, policies, and reporting mechanisms are developed, implemented, administered and are compliant with federal, state, and local regulatory standards and requirements including all funding agencies, institutional, NIH, and related agency guidelines.
- Develops and monitors budgets and fiscal plans for the center. Oversees the management and reporting of the budget, grants, and other accounts. Maintains compliance with internal and external audits.
- Works closely with DIS and the university's information system's leadership to develop and maintain the data warehouse and data mart technologies and systems and applications to support center projects, oversees service and maintenance of the center's servers and all other information systems equipment. Purchases equipment, supplies, and software for center projects and activities.
- Builds and enhances positive relationships and promotes collaborations among UMMC faculty and staff, advisory and governance boards, UMMC administration, senior leadership, funding agencies, state agencies, external stakeholders, local and national organizations, relevant agencies and professional associations, and clients and constituents of the center. Represents the center on all appropriate committees and events.
