Job Description

The focus of this position is to improve reliability of statistics generated by our sorting machines and develop new high-quality statistics that help our customers optimizing their sorting processes. Where applicable, statistical data needs to be generated based on models that you will develop and optimize. To close the loop, you will support Tomra application teams in verifying quality of statistics data. Furthermore, you evaluate the suitability of existing sensors for existing and new statistics, recommend how to tailor sensors and evaluate new sensors.

  • Optimize existing statistics
  • Support statistics verification process
  • Evaluate and introduce new statistics
  • Evaluate new sensors regarding statistics generation
  • Cooperate with business streams on selected applications
  • Contribute ideas about improvement possibilities (quality/ efficiency)
  • Support for technical documentation
  • Teaching, training
  • Close cooperation with Tomra Insight and Tomra Deep Learning

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Computer Science or related field or alternatively relevant job experience
  • Solid programming skills in C++, optional: Python, Rust
  • Understanding of data science methodology
  • Understanding of Optics, Physics, Image Processing and Sensorics
  • Basic understanding about Requirements Engineering and Testing methodology
  • Good English skills spoken and written
  • Basic knowledge of German
